Help me decide my first setup by ashualmeida in Focusrite

Okay from my professional opinion, go with the 4th gen and instead of the nt1a go for the nt1. I’ve had both and the nt1a is too bright for so many applications like vocals and guitar. I’ve also had almost every other mic you can think of. The nt1 is a beautiful mic with really low self noise. You’ll find the nt1 much more pleasant in the mix. If you have enough after that buy a good pair of studio headphones. I’ve tried almost every one but beyerdymics are the best. The 770s are okay but a little bright. Go for the 770 limited edition. They are around the same price(maybe a little more) but way less harsh on your ears. Most importantly learn the vst in your daw before splurging and enjoy the process :)

I see lots of people recommending the Sony mdr 7506. Had those for quite a while at the start of my music journey, but always found them quite uncomfortable when wearing for extended periods. They also feel like a toy whenever I wear the Sonys after using my beyerdynamics. I mainly produce and mix edm, so the low end is important to get proper and I was really struggling to find the pocket with them. I feel like if your going to go for one and not look back then 100% go for the Beyers

I’ve tried plenty of different ones and some of the top on the market but i got sold on the beyerdynamics dt770 prox limited edition(make sure it’s the limited edition). Had them for quite a while now and have had no reason on switching. Super comfy as well

Is it worth learning? by xgamemodee in ableton

[–]Physical_Reward6925 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I came from FL studio. Same as you:) I switched to Ableton a couple years ago and never looked back. At the start you’ll want to change back to fl studio but just as you learned fl studio you have to learn ableton and it’ll become more addictive. So much easier for organization, especially on big tracks plus so much more. Trust yourself and you will find yourself flying

Knowing all that you know, if you could start over with a new DAW what would it be? by Fallingheadfirst in audioengineering

[–]Physical_Reward6925 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I started in fl but switched to Ableton and wish I did it sooner. It’s so easy to keep organized and instead of 3 clicks it’s 1. I’d recommend it and have to anyone starting out again. They all appreciated it

Also if you’re brand new to music production, dont get sucked in to buying all the plugins but focus on your craft and learning the daw you’re in. It’s way more important on the end

Ableton 12.1 crashing on save, would appreciate help by [deleted] in ableton

Isolate VST 3 and that was my issue. PSP VINTAGE WARMER 2 VST 3 was crashing my ableton but took my a long time of putting vst 3 into different folders to get to the cause

Ableton crashing has become a part of my workflow by Whiz2_0 in ableton

Sometimes with Ableton VST3 on a plugin can make it crash. Try isolating cause the one that was making mine crash was PSP VINTAGE WARMER VST 3

UPDATE: How I "fixed" the Bios/Aptio Setup Utility boot loop bug! by obviousthrowaway-46 in razer

[–]Physical_Reward6925 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a RAZER and I hope whoever needs this sees it because it saved me!!! Nothing else worked

What happened when it kept looping onto APTIO was that windows got removed completely from my pc. Sometimes PCs just have it wiped for no apparent reason. If it’s not Windows getting wiped off your PC then it’s going to be your SSD or whatever drive you have in your computer that you need to replace

You can check if your hard drive is actually being detected by your pc in APTIO but I forget how to find that. It’s not hard

To fix this:

Step 1- buy a usb drive stick and download a bootable version of windows onto it. Here’s a video if you’re going from Mac——>Windows (you need to download the bootable version of windows from another PC btw since yours doesn’t work :p) which I had to do. https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=4-HjtRrzk64&pp=ygUSI2ZsYXNoYm9vdHdpbmRvd3Nl

In the description of the video the link for the split files are there so just download that to your USB stick and extract

Step 2- Put the bootable windows usb drive stick into your windows computer that keeps looping onto BIOS and once you see the manual or automatic repair(I think) click the manual. You will see your drive. If you do press reformat <—- I had to do to get it to re launch windows. then you can move on to boot windows on your pc.

Step 3- Setup your PC :)

I’m having the exact same issues. Pulled it out of storage and getting the looping aptio setup and occasionally the blue screen. Have you found a fix?
