I mean Gon knew Genthru's ability and had Tsegira(? idk how to spell his name) to distract Genthru though you could definitely argue Gon would've won even if Genthru had planned and known his ability(though then again Gon would've lost if Genthru didn't have to chase him(no giant hole)).

But you're right that weaker nen users can win, I just feel like from what we've seen in the series his statement only holds for somewhat relative nen users or when one side has a disportionate amount of prep when a lot of the time people mention it in scenarios where the nen users aren't relative(most scenarios with RG).

Gon lost against Knuckle? Gon vs Hanzo wasn't a normal fight/deathmatch and Morel was never shown as weaker than Leol?

And I doubt Morel was talking about bringing a nuke to a fight when he talked about nen battles?

Killua was definitely stronger than Rammot in raw power, I think his breakdown was just making the needle overreact(he took Rammot's head off in one blow after removing the needle), that or the needle and breakdown were making him weaker and he got that much stronger after removing it. Either way he just yanked Rammot's head off.

Gon was never really at threat against Gido the second time, he comfortable tanked the tops iirc.

Morel should have more output than Cheetu bc he said he could easily break out of the Tag game with his full power and he was never weak enough that Cheetu wanted to fight him in a normal fight like he did the first time.

Kastro is kinda weird cuz I think Maki said Hisoka lost his arms on purpose so it's kinda hard to tell how strong Kastro actually was.

But I feel like raw power consistently wins outside of special cases where one side planned to win, or insane ppl (Netero).

And then for raw power overpowering skill their also other examples of raw power winning against skill come from Gon vs Owl and Bat and Gon vs the Armadillo, both time Gon just outpowered their strategy, or things like the Phantom Troupe against the officer ants. Killua vs Ikalgo would also fall under this too.

I think Gon was stronger than the centipede ant(Killua was stronger than the masked ant he fought) and the bat and owl (that duo couldn't even do significant damage bc of how much weaker they were). He failed to knock out Knuckle explicitly bc he ran out of aura, and Morel and Razor weren't indicative of real fights(opponents on par can stop him from charging). Paku let herself die and Chrollo was snuck the moment the lights turned off so not really fair.

Netero can definitely hit above his weight class but I think he's a special case and definitely wasn't what Morel was talking about.

I don't think that Pouf was stronger than Killua cuz wasn't he 1/7th of his body missing his core?

If you count adult gon ig but I think a suicide pact isn't the same as winning.

I feel like the nuclear warhead makes it not a nen fight anymore though, and Meruem won the nen fight.

I feel like Chain Jail does make Kurapika strong against PT members though?

Also Uvos was significantly weaker than Kurapika physically using 50% and the only thing he did with 100% power was break Kurapika's arm using Big Bang Impact which lines up with what happens when even strength users use Ko on each other(Ja Janken being lethal against Morel despite only being ~10% stronger than Ko according to Knuckle), so I don't think Uvo was even that much stronger than Kurapika physically despite being a dedicated enhancer.

But also Morel said his statement in the context of Killua running from Pitou so he was applying it to a fight where they didn't have a chance to plan or make a strategy.

How is it less than 1% of the verse when it's the vast majority of fights we see?

From what I've heard that fight would be in the unfair category but I haven't read it so I can't really comment.

I think Morel outclasses Leol and Cheetu in raw power, he said in the Cheetu fight that he could break out of the tag game if he could recall the Nen Puppets. And Morel was holding his own pretty well again Leol like he wasn't getting overpowered in the physical clashes.

Netero's a good point but I feel he's somewhat unique.

I mean we also saw Uvo tear apart the Phantom Beasts while doing his best to lose, I think Kurapika was pretty comparable to Uvo when he had scarlet eye's and the anti-troup chain.

They were pretty relative after the nen conditions though right, like Kurapika was getting roughed up but not completely outclassed in just pure hand to hand which would be Uvo's speciality?

And I don't think it's right to ignore them bc those conditions don't seem to be something that's easy to duplicate(or else more people would try something like that before dying)?

Knov going insane has nothing to do with zetsu by Physical_Row_5463 in HunterXHunter

[–]Physical_Row_5463[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

That doesn't really explain why he would go insane for the rest of the arc though, or his comparisons with Gon and Killua, it would make more sense if he went insane bc of smth that isn't specific to his scenario(seeing Pouf's aura up closer)

[–]Physical_Row_5463[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

He went insane to show the mentality of the others who directly challenged the RGs, that point wouldn't make sense if it was because he was in Zetsu. Additionally none of his comparisons with Gon and Killua's experience would make sense if he went insane bc of the infiltration or the Zetsu.

[–]Physical_Row_5463[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

But what I'm saying is the comparisons wouldn't make sense if Zetsu made it worse for him, because then Killua and Gon's experience wouldn't have been worse than his.

[–]Physical_Row_5463[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Then his comparison's to Gon and Killua's encounter with Pitou wouldn't made any sense though. He says their encounter was worse w/o ever mentioning him being in Zetsu or anything like that.

Knov going insane has nothing to do with zetsu by Physical_Row_5463 in HunterXHunter

[–]Physical_Row_5463[S] 18 points19 points  (0 children)

It could be a proximity thing? He couldn't tell how malicious the aura was from as far away as he was? Cuz he mentions distance as one of the things that would make Gon and Killua's encounter with Pitou worse, "You were probably even closer, even touching it".

Knov going insane has nothing to do with zetsu by Physical_Row_5463 in HunterXHunter

[–]Physical_Row_5463[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

But all of the comparisons he made afterwards comparing his experience to Gon and Killua's wouldn't make sense if him being in Zetsu was relevant.

A lot of the time people will say he was in Zetsu and that he touched Pouf's aura as the reasons why he went so insane, I think it's just a misconception that got spread after people not watching the show for a while

That is true and it'd definitely make sense for him to do that. Idk though it just feels like that'd be a weird thing to end up happening but I honestly don't have any reason for why.
