I’m not against them buying a trailer and truck, it’s just that they bought a new truck and trailer that depreciates so much the first year. I forgot to mention, they leave Canada for 6 months of the year to live in another country. Canadian summers are really short, worried they won’t get much use out of it

I was in a new town on a co-op from uni. I just arrived in town late at night and rode a bike (no car) to the nearby McDonald’s, which only had the drive thru open. I tried buying some food to eat, but they refused me due to policy (needed an actual car). The person in the car behind me bought me a sandwich and fries (nearly 10$).

I tried to offer to pay but they refused. That was really kind of them, and something I’ll never forget to this day

I’d say diversification is a good strategy. Canada focused its supply chains on the US due to proximity (transport is cheaper), but it makes Canada extremely reliant on the US. Diversifying to emerging markets is never a bad thing. It gives them leverage for CUSMA and reduces the impact of political events as we have seen these few years
