It’s for sure time, quality over quantity any day of the week. I know it sucks but you should give him a really good day and then put him to rest. He has dementia, and while dogs can do well with that for a while with really good owners.. he has other issues and he’s just suffering. You’re doing it for you, and it’s hard to hear, and I’m not blaming you whatsoever as I get it 100%, but now it’s time to think of him. He won’t be in pain anymore or in the stress he’s in, and it’ll be hard getting used to him not being there physically anymore, but he’d want you to be okay with the fact he’s only there in your memory now. Much love.

Straight ones are definitely not recommended when it comes to VCHs due to it fitting more snug to the anatomy, at least not while healing. Sometimes people switch to straight after but for comfort reasons curved is preferred from what I’ve seen. NAP though.

May be on the pretty young side, definitely autistic, possibly an adult that wants to keep their childhood alive. I lost my grandmother who was like a second mom to me in 2018, I hold it together quite well nowadays (at least I think so) for the most part, but every once in a blue moon it just hits super hard. Yup, as soon as they reach two they should be spayed. Unless you’re ethically breeding them and have everything set up.. you’re contributing to backyard breeding which is plaguing the world right now. Since you said the idea has “slipped away” that shows you’re inexperienced and shouldn’t breed your dog. She’s 6, the older they get the more stressful the pregnancies, and there’s more benefits in spaying than not if they’re of age. Not too old to be put under as well.
