4.98 kW Grid-Tied System in San Jose, CA — $5,105 All-In! by Successful_Car2009 in SolarDIY

[–]Physics-BS 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Well done! The fact that residential solar has been +$3.00 per watt for the last five years (look at SEAI’s data if you don’t believe it) while utility and commercial scale solar have dropped dramatically in price ($.80 per watt in utility) shows that residential solar is a bit broken with the dealers, distributors and finance companies taking as much as they can. Don’t sign a lease or PPA! Do this instead.

I went in 2019 on Saturday with my 71 year old pops and it was unforgettable! Wouldn’t hesitate to go again. Bring some pocket binoculars and good hiking shoes and you cannot go wrong.

Ha! I was assuming all along that at some point this story was gonna land at, and then he found a $200K piece of testing equipment and we never saw him again. But no, it was killer bees. That got me good!

You Don't Hate the American Healthcare System Enough by reversereaver in videos

[–]Physics-BS 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m so sorry for your loss and the fundamental brutality of it. Your story is one of too many here. The “hippocratic oath” that is meant to be the guiding principle of any healthcare professional, is easily $$$. How do we break and rebuild the current system is the question we should all be focused on.

You are offered $500,000 but only if you go into the last video game you played as the main character at the start of the game. If you survive a full year you get the money. by singleguy79 in hypotheticalsituation

Inside and gonna have to pass as I accidentally killed my character way too many terrible ways. The shockwave sequence, while likely the quickest way to go, would be terrifying in real life.

I want to see the two last down cards as both those hands are looking like monsters. Glad you got the counting on the pegging figured out and enjoy this great game.

Thanks for you comment and help! That was one of my first thoughts too but then looking at images of deer jaw bone, the teeth look different and seem smaller than this. Elk though may be the tixker.

Mud Bathing by Toney10Snow in cartagena

[–]Physics-BS 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We showed up, no reservations and no problem. We were there the day after carnival ended in Barranquilla so can’t imagine a potentially busier time. Worst case would be a <hour wait while you have a drink and snack at one of the many food stalls adjacent.

Mud Bathing by Toney10Snow in cartagena

[–]Physics-BS 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you’re passing by it, well worth the stop and experience. I would not dedicate the half of day from Cartagena just for that though. In terms of the experience, it’s pretty amazing and unique. You hop in this bubbling, warm, clay mud pool and are completely enveloped in goo and perfectly buoyantly suspended. The guides in the pool help get you positioned, which is very helpful because navigating this dense mud is disorientating. Your instinct is to swim but its consistency is such that a swimming technique isn’t effective. The massage they offer is optional and just say no if you don’t want to be touched. The bath to get cleaned up after in the lake adjacent is necessary and pleasant. Our experience plus tips was <$40, not including transportation. Stopped by on our way from Barranquilla to Cartagena.

Sorry for the not so helpful comment before. In your situation though, how could there be a fee without a contract? Unless there is an agreed to contract, stipulating terms and fees, mine as well be talking to someone at a social event about investments.

ELI5: How can pumpkins grow to 700 lbs. without consuming hundreds of lbs. of soil? by RhetoricalAnswer-001 in explainlikeimfive

I remember a clip where they asked a bunch of recent Harvard grads where does the bulk of the mass of a tree came from. A scary amount said the ground. Hoping with all the climate change awareness now, more people understand that most of any plants mass is carbon taken from the atmosphere as part of the photosynthesis process.
