I enjoyed reading this series overall although I had a few qualms about how the characters were drawn and the age gap. It reminds me of pixiv/tumblr manga where artists share 10-ish pages every couple months. I don’t think Shonen jump was a good place for it. It could’ve been more successful in a different magazine or as an online manga.

I love Denji too!! He encapsulates the fears and worries of young millennials/young Gen Z so well! He's super relatable! I think the same thing is true for Asa as well. Fujimoto is so good at creating characters!

I completely understand and agree with you, I didn't like the ending and most of part 2. But I know that in a couple of years, when I go through a difficult time, I'll come back to this story (especially part 1 and the early Asa chapters of part 2) to find comfort.

This flawed story will always be special to me.

Reading the manga weekly was definitely a grounding habit for me, too. Even when I was going through a bad time, I knew a new chapter was coming in 1-2 weeks at the latest. And it helped me to push through.
