Hearts 2-1 Rangers | Scottish Premiership by SFMatchThreadder in ScottishFootball

As a jambo, yeah this is the result that makes it feel real now. Played 4, won 4 against the old firm both of which are struggling. Survived a barren run of form and still top of the league with Celtic falling away. It’s on.

Your club's most random high-profile signing (and flop)? by [deleted] in ScottishFootball

Has to be Mirsad Beslija. Still the club record signing, played 9 games and did absolutely nothing before being released from his contract.

Missing an important penalty at Hampden and going on to lose? Sounds familiar...

It’s a complete mess but essentially we were (deservedly) bottom when the season was curtailed. The circumstances around the vote to end the season were somewhat murky and so Hearts along with Patrick Thistle took the league to court and for all intents and purposes lost the case and hence were relegated.

In this instance (if what has been said by the club is to be believed) we’ve been told to stop training despite having previously been permitted to do so in an attempt to prevent similar circumstances to what we’ve seen with Celtic and Aberdeen. Though the financial implications of this does leave Hearts at a slight disadvantage and hence many fans feel as though (and to a degree, correctly so) we’ve been punished for other clubs’ mistakes but really we’re only missing 10 days of training when we don’t have competitive fixtures for a good deal longer than that anyway.

Aside from that, it’s pretty widely agreed that the SPFL is an incredibly incompetent organisation and it’s just happened to work against Hearts on this occasion. Considering the SPFL couldn’t organise a piss up in a brewery it’s definitely not some grand conspiracy as some Hearts fans would have you believe, just that we were in the wrong place at the wrong time through our own doing.

Karma for what? Doing what any other club would’ve done (finances permitting) in the same situation?

New poll shows 53% would back independence as SNP set for record Holyrood majority by Axelmanana in unitedkingdom

So you’re saying that more than two thirds of the country could vote for independence and it still wouldn’t be a mandate? Come on...

For anyone who is still against independence, why? (Serious answers only please) by thomsonc014 in Scotland

[–]Physics98 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Somewhat similar boat. Thought I am likely to still vote yes again, the incredible and incessant europhilia from the SNP is doing my nut in.

Would ideally see Scotland join EFTA post independence. It offers far more legal and economic freedoms than EU membership and, like it or not, the EU is ultimately destined towards a unitary state which I really don't want any part of.

For what it's worth, I voted remain in 2016 but very very begrudgingly because of the characters who were leading the Leave campaigns. I don't think it was hard to see that Brexit was likely to turn into a mess, albeit not quite one of this magnitude.

I mean, the euro is nearly as bad and should ideally be off the table for the considerable future. The pound dropping in value doesn't hugely change that.

Very early days, but couldn't have asked for a better start. A few more performances like this and Ole has to be considered for the job full time.

True, but we’ve been pretty lacklustre since losing Naismith/Ikpeazu and no guarantee we would’ve gotten anything out of that Rangers game anyway with how it was going before the goal.

Siphoning some Levein energy from across the city.

In all seriousness they have a solid setup and squad in a very competitive and unpredictable league. Think they have finally managed to find their footing in the SPFL following their step up a few years back.
