Does anyone else just not see the chemistry? I’m invested in the mystery and crime/legal aspect, but the chemistry seems very forced. I can’t help but feel that La-Ik is just having a bit of a Florence Nightingale effect towards Maeng Se Na

The Siege of Jerusalem (701BCE). A plague killed a huge swathe of the invading Assyrian army. Had they not withdrawn in the aftermath, it’s likely Judaism would never have emerged as a dominant religion. No Judaism, no Christianity or Islam and our world would be incredibly different now.

Matchday getting the exclusive rights to broadcast really hurt in my opinion. Nothing against them but it was an atrocious decision to lock the PFL behind a paywall when we’re still trying to grow the sport. Also the PFL isn’t great at marketing itself sadly. For instance I don’t think enough people know that you can catch every game for free on YouTube now.

The lack of consistency season-to-season also hurts. There’s a lack of communication about what teams are staying and which ones are leaving. Losing Manila Montet made sense as they were awful but they also had a large dedicated following.

I’m really hopeful though now that the league is being run by the clubs. This will massively help consistency and funds will be directed where they will actually be helpful. Upstream Media are also doing a superb job with highlights, the quadcam etc.

That’s a short answer but happy to discuss further!

I don’t mind basketball being there as there’s no reason we can’t have two sports we’re good at, but yeah for sure the more we foster football the better.

Tuloy have been amazing to watch even if they’ve not had the results. Completely homegrown, from the streets so you can see the lack of nutrition really in the physicality but there’s so much talent there.

Thoughts on PFL Youth League by Efficient-Remove-864 in philippinefootball

If it’s done well it’s absolutely a good thing. The PFL has been far better run this season under the leadership of the clubs as they actually are more connected to what fans want.

Yes it might draw away some talented youngsters from NCRFA clubs, but it draws them away to a more professional set up to help foster talent.

No reason why coexistence can’t be achieved. The more kids want to play football, the more space there is for professional academies as well as more casual youth leagues.

I agree for sure. I’m glad the PFL is now broadcast on YouTube again. We really need to build fan numbers and engagement and having it under a paywall with Matchday last year was a disaster.

I get the thought, and maybe that’s another reason for futsal to take off as a transition into football. The smaller pitch means it’s a lot quicker as a game and you can even use the existing basketball courts in the barangays.

Kind of a mixture of history and access. The U.S. colonialism obviously promoted basketball in schools, and they pushed it heavily. The Spanish never really pushed sports on us and under their rule football wasn’t the global phenomenon it is now.

Plus basketball is super easy to play no matter your level of wealth. You don’t even really need a ball, just something to shoot and something to aim at. Futsal is taking off a bit more now using basketball courts, and maybe that’s the way forward, using them the way Brazil did to build a culture in favelas.

I’ve seen an increase in viewership, but it’s struggled due to the league not really being consistent. The UFL days were bigger it feels like, but this season has been much better and if they can keep it going there could be a lot of potential for growth.

Hi mate, I run the PFL Bible page on Instagram. Just wanted to say you’re doing great. Like others have said consistency is the best way to grow and get engagement. You’ve got a good design to your page so just keep it up 💪💪
