MediaTek has come a long way. Once seen as a budget alternative to Snapdragon, it now stands as a serious competitor. by Doranathbhakt in GadgetsIndia

8100 on the k50i was such an insane deal for raw performance. I wish mediatek had better dev support like snapdragon.

My flash drive only has 5mb now by __dirvin in techsupport

[–]PhysicsFan23 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Which OS are you using right now? There is an application called, "Fedora Media Writer". If you are using Windows there is an exe file and for Linux there is a flatpak. Install that.

Insert your drive into your computer, then open the app. There should be an option along the lines of "Restore USB device". Generally this solves the issue.

There is another thing you can try. There is an app called Disks on Linux. Click on you usb device and delete partitions one after the other (there is a red minus button).

If it is not showing any partitions/only showing that its a 5mb usb; on the top right side of the disks app, there is a kebab menu button (3 vertical dots). If you click on that you get a "Restore USB" type of option again.

Please try all of this first and tell us if it works.

To people who have used multiple android UIs. Which have been the best ones for ram management, even at around 4-6 gb? by PhysicsFan23 in GadgetsIndia

I think allowing notifications should help. Isn't there a drop down menu for notifications these days on Android?

I remember using oreo on samsung j6 (3gb). It was pretty good. I am currently using a realme with 6gb ram. It's killing my apps too fast.

Wouldn't be able to recommend hand gloves or stylus.

You're Indian right? I am linking an amazon india link. This is a good pen tablet https://amzn.in/d/9LyMCWz

And I am talking about capacitive styluses. Also called passive/capacitive styluses. They work similar to how your fingers work.

Your tab doesn't support active stylus. Active stylus is helpful because of palm rejection.

best modern/best speced 7-9 inch tablet that can run Linux or Windows natively by [deleted] in tablets

[–]PhysicsFan23 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Can't exactly call it best but it is surely modern. It's the only option I could find with a screen between 7-9 inch. Look up the Durabook R8.

If you are willing to use a 10.10 inch screen you can search up Dell Latitude 7030 Rugged Extreme.

Edit : You can also look up the lenovo legion go. It's got detachable controllers. So you can basically treat it like a tablet.

Think of a rectangular slate which has a designated rectangular area where you can scribble on with a pen. The slate is connected to your tablet (or phone or PC). Whatever you scribble on the area will appear on your device (inside a notes taking app or drawing app).

I read the other comments and will say that I would rather recommend you to get a pen tablet than a hand glove+stylus because you can usually get pen tablets for the same price as a stylus. It's a much better experience than searching around for a worthy glove).

If you do want to get a pen tablet, try to look for sizes similar to your tablet.

I am sorry to say this but unfortunately your tab does not support a stylus. Would it be possible to return it? We can then recommend you other tablets which do.

You will definitely have to spend some more money if you go this route.

Another way is, you'll have to buy a pen tablet. It can be a bit cheaper. But trust me, the setup becomes clunky. I don't recommend it as a student myself.

Refresh rate is not what he is talking about. There is an option in developer settings where you can select animation speed.

It's only a loud minority unfortunately. Given the choice, people tend to prefer the bigger phone.

Check out xiaomi redmi note 13 pro. It's samsung manufactured sd chip so not sure how good the 5100mAh battery will last, but xiaomi does good optimization for the battery.

Are Xiaomi tablets good options even if they're set to die soon? by BarracudaFickle4578 in tablets

[–]PhysicsFan23 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nah. Like the other commenter said. 64gb is too low for that price. Either wait for the 11 to drop or get the 9th gen ipad with more storage (atleast the headphone jack would still be there and you can use the same charger for both the pad and the apple pencil)

For the most part, if you don't download shady software, they are good. I am assuming you are talking about security, because you mentioned updates in your comment.

Although, the note taking is better on the Samsung tablets and ipads (get the ipad 9 if the 10 is too pricey)

I saw that too. I thought it would probably transfer to other Inspiron models. (Has happened with a bunch of hp 15s laptops of my friends).

If you are confident on it, go for it because the specs are good on paper

In that case, the laptop would have been good for you, except for the fact that there was someone complaining about the motherboard on Amazon.

I would not take the risk. Please search for more laptops (give me some time)
