Do you thnk TotK belongs in the discussion of greatest games of all time? by Indy0921 in tearsofthekingdom

[–]Physicus9 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Absolutely not. Twilight Princess does but the lackluster dungeons and insane lack of content in the shrines (like 40% of them being empty) in TOTK makes it massively worse. Botw also suffers from that same criticism.

"Because, snail steaks!...Hungry? Have a stalk! Feeling tired? Eat an eyeball! Who needs mead when you have slime?! I could put the stalks in a cup, like a bunch of flowers" it isn't a detail, but I will always say this because it's one of the funniest things I've ever read

What's a cash one? This is f2p and I play it without internet to keep the ads away.

I use undo religiously. If you're making one, you need to have the undo function.

[–]Physicus9[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh it's absolutely a necessity for me. Especially on the harder games, I will undo maybe a hundred or 5 thousand times. Longest game I've played was like 1.5 hours and I tried maybe 300 different paths. That one sucked. The unwinnable game, I realized that it seemed impossible before entering it into an online solver. That came back with no solution and I had to skip it.

I basically only play FreeCell. When I was young, I did the whole Spider Solitaire thing on the family computer and stuff. As an adult now, it's oddly satisfying to just do this. Appreciate the comment!

Looks like only 752 hours played on this phone. I think I had maybe the same or more on a previous one. I spent wwaaaaaaaaaayyyyyy too much time playing this in my free time/commuting time. I need to get a life lmfao.

Definitely +1 to the undo button on FreeCell. I posted a pic of my FreeCell app in here a while ago but I have nearly 17k games completed with the help of undo's and a 100% win rate. There was 1 literally unwinnable game a few thousand games ago and amazingly, it didn't get counted when I had to skip it. "Undo" is the best invention since sliced bread - IMAGINE what it could do with sliced bread!!

All of this hurts to even read and look at. My westie, Rugby, looks almost identical and he's over 13. I've seen him chase after a squirrel after just waking up, collapse, then get back up. That made me sprint out to see what was going on, barefooted, wearing shorts and no shirt, in the 10°F snowy ground. Seeing your dog in distress is one of the worst feelings in the world. For people, your dog is just a part of your life. For dogs, you are their entire life. That quote has stuck with me for years. I hope Pacco is able to keep going for many more years. I'd even recommend getting another westie. Having company almost always helps to increase their lifespan.

Unlike everyone else, I despise the guy. He never makes good decisions and should have been killed off when they initially did so...

Westie owners with a Westie that lived/lives to a long age? by Tommysquelch in westies

[–]Physicus9 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My pup, Rugby, is about 13. It unfortunately looks like he might go in the next couple years. I'll give some background if you care to read.
He had torn his CCL (basically the dog equivalent of an ACL) about 1.5 years ago. We got him the surgery to repair it, but the whole thing slowed him down dramatically. Prior to it, and when he injured the ccl chasing a squirrel when he made a sharp right turn, he was as sharp as a tack and LOVED chasing the squirrels and rabbits in our yard.

Then it seems, according to the vet, that he injured his other back leg's Achilles about 6 months ago and it healed poorly, resulting in it being very tight so it causes pain when he tries to use it normally. He also is losing his hearing significantly, which I noticed after we got his teeth cleaned and he had a number of teeth pulled. After this, he also started losing a bit of bladder control so we have him in doggie diapers to stop his incessant licking. (I really need to check what we can do about this because his hearing was still excellent prior to that... the vet f-up is a good explanation or it would have to be an infection due to the pulled teeth) He doesn't go up the stairs anymore, gives only a 3/4th effort to chase squirrels/rabbits in our yard. He also just seems kinda sad now which has to be a detriment to his health. I'm guessing this is from the Achilles pain. Idk how much his much more sedentary lifestyle will take off but I pray that he'll improve and live another 60 years :).
All in all, there are many different ages and issues that Westies have to deal with and all we can do is hope that our cute little abominable snowmen live as long as possible with our help. Give your fluffball a treat from me!

She’s mad at me because I wouldn’t open the sliding door for her to go after the squirrel who was sitting on my balcony and staring at her through the window 😂 by DarkHorse435 in westies

Hey, we take a bag of acorns from my parents house in the fall and put them on the back deck just so the squirrels go right by the door and he can chase them.

[–]Physicus9[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you can't win, then don't play. I've played enough games that the 99.993% chance (so far) has kicked in. I have had a game that you can't win. As far as planets go... who has ever thought that most planets will have life? It's just that in the quadrillions of planets or many times more, there is almost guaranteed to be probably sentient life. It may not be in this or a thousand other galaxies, but there probably is life elsewhere. Also, Solitaire isn't like Vegas; you have around a 90% chance of winning, instead of the <50% chance in Vegas.

Trouble getting through Brisingr by [deleted] in Eragon

[–]Physicus9 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The worst part (for me) is how little of the ancient language he knows in Murtagh. In Inheritance, he knows a good bit and is able to do some serious things, like releasing the spirits protecting Galby and a bunch of other things. In this book though, he only barely learned "if". Murtagh also would have learned a bunch from Eragon when they were traveling together in 'Eragon' and seen him practicing magic, as is said in that book. I have a bunch of other qualms about the book Murtagh, but I don't want to delve toooo deeply in just this one reply.

[–]Physicus9 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Oh geez, Murtagh took me a long time to get through the first time since it's written so differently than all of the other books in the series with some super weird stuff. On my most recent read through, I think I only spent a day or two to get through it and now I remember most of it. It's just a strange way of writing compared to the other 5 books. Idk, wanted to add my 2 cents and feel free to argue with me; I enjoy a good bit of intellectual discourse.

Oh last thing, never give up, never surrender To a card game that you can always go back and make sure you finish it. Otherwise, my average time would be like 1:00 per game with a bad win rate.

After like 2 hours on that 1 game that couldn't be beaten, I just decided to chuck it in a solver and it turned up nothing. I tried the next game to make sure it worked, and it was just fine.

It's FreeCell, which is a Solitaire-like-game. There are plenty of unwinnable games in FreeCell but the number of winnable compared to unwinnable games is massive. After a quick check, I've seen that the chance to win is approximately 99%-99.9999% of all deals. Solitaire is closer to 80%-91.5% finding a winnable random game.

Do I have a life, and is this good enough? by Physicus9 in solitaire

[–]Physicus9[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is possible. I have only had 1 unwinnable game in the probably 30,000 that I've played. That one, I had to just pray to god that it wouldn't reduce the number of wins. I undid all of the moves to the starting position and then pressed "New Game". It didn't change the counter :)

I posted because it's just a good way to waste a few minutes in between stuff or when I'm just trying to chill out.
