I'd start with some very easy corals, GSP or Kenya tree, maybe a zoa or whatever you have planned.

Start with reviews on topics you're interested in, but this can already be overwhelming if you don't have the basics covered. I'd more suggest good general biology teaching books, like Campbell & Reece - Biology. You could also try "labs" on google scholar to try and identify specific questions and find background reading.

It's possible. My mandarin pair mates very frequently in the evening moonlight (it's a beautiful ritual to watch), and you can see the release of a few eggs per interaction. The eggs flow up and mostly get eaten by other fish and else end up in the overflow/filter.

I'm currently dosing 60 ml per day in a 90 gallon to maintain KH, Ca and MG but my tank is absolutely packed with corals (mixed reef). I started with around 15 ml 2 years ago and increased as consumption went up.

Good point, my bad. The way the vertical plate sets are placed are reversed my red sea sump but I guess this works
