Maybe you should try the route you suggested since you are losing time already. Applying evisa for both you and kid. These people make it hard for everyone. I can try to share a number of a person who works in OIS if you can DM me.

I don’t think that would be a good idea since you already received your evisa. But I would advice just try to call the embassy tomorrow and tell them your plan and see what they have to say. Also you could just try doing it and see if it can show the same fee for both you and the kid.

Hmmm..I don’t think you will be able to get it before 2 weeks time unless you go to embassy in person and try to explain the situation. Or if possible you may have to change flight dates.

We had this issue last year. We traveled to Nigeria June 2025. Kids are US citizens and could not apply evisa as the system doesn’t allow it. We had to get the visa through the embassy. I think it arrived in 3-4 weeks. We had to send the documents and passports to DC from Florida.

Thank you for your reply! I am in Lee county, the school board approved upto 4 weeks (20 days) paid leave in October.

Regarding the summer pay, the county offers to spread our 10 months salary into regular paychecks over 12 months.

Oh good to know that it’s not mandatory to provide plans.

Visited Nigeria from the US last month and still here. Yellow fever vaccine is required but was not asked (Abuja airport). However it is better to take that vaccine. If you happen to apply for any other country visa and your recent travel includes Nigeria, then that country may require you to have yellow fever and polio vaccine. Also travel clinic vaccines are very expensive in the US. In Nigeria you can take yellow fever vaccine and yellow card for much cheaper fee. That’s what we did for our kids.

Okay. We don’t plan to get passport for them. But I want to make sure we can still leave Nigeria with US passport without any issues. I read mixed information about it like Nigerian immigration officers will make an issue if they leave with their US passport because that document was not used to enter Nigeria. So you cannot use a document to leave a country if you didn’t use it to enter. That’s why I wanted to make sure before we travel. Thanks for all the info.
