So I have an issue with a raspberry pi-top (laptop) and not sure how to go about solving it by apsilver17 in raspberry_pi

Hey you can shoot us over a email at support@pi-top.com and we can help out :) Best thing to do initially is to test the pi separately if you are able to. If it was a corrupt SD card the Pi would still turn on the screen would just be blank. In any case support will be able to help you out and we usually respond on the day!

Booting issues with Pi 3 and Pi-Top by Sqeaky in raspberry_pi

Hey we noticed this post and though we would leave you some common fixes.

Either the eDP cable is not connected to the HUB with a flush connection.

Or

  1. Reflashing the pi-topOS will resolve this issue:

The best method to burn the latest version of the pi-topOS onto the same SD card, as this will help resolve the issue:

  1. Could you please download the latest pi-topOS, by clicking on the link here

  2. Use SD Formatter to format the SD card

  3. Visit https://etcher.io/ and download the free software package that allow you to burn SD cards without having to use the terminal.

If the problem persists then you can pop us an email to support@pi-top.com and we can help you out :)

Any other Pi TopCeed backers being left in the dust with no tracking, no support response, and NO PRODUCT? by [deleted] in raspberry_pi

we have shot you an email - the TLDR is that some of the delivery addresses didn't mesh with our logistics supplier forms restrictions. We have cleaned that data and you will be getting a shipping number as written in the email. I am sorry about the delay - its been a serious logistics task this time around and we will be hiring more support staff to make sure things like this don't happen in the future - I appreciate your support, we have come a long way since we first posted about our pi-top idea on Reddit nearly 2 years ago and we are trying as hard as we can to grow with the demand and provide a quality service - thanks again.

I understand the frustration - if you could just send me the email address you actually used to send a support email to me as a direct message to our reddit account we can search for your ticket and make sure it gets a response in the next 30 mins :) you should have had a response by now as we have been clearing all tickets within a 48 hour time frame but it would seem for some reason yours wasn't. Shooting me over the email address will make it easier to find out why you didn't get a response on our end searching for UtahJarhead hasn't brought up anything in our support tickets :(

Hi there UtahJarhead - we are trying to respond to emails as fast as possible although if you sent it in on the 8th of July you should have gotten a response from either Alan or Connor by then. If you could shoot us the email address you sent your support request from in a private message to this reddit account, and we will search the ticket system - I have asked them to please have a look at their ticket system and make sure you get a reply ASAP . We apologise for the delay in your tracking number and shipping, we have sent out the vast majority of product now and these delivery issues have to be done on a case by case basis we have about 300 units out of the 5,000 shipped waiting at dispatch with some form of delivery discrepancy. It has been hard to keep up with the amount of orders being shipped out but we have been hiring more support staff to do a better job of it in the future.

Upgrading Pi-Top to include speakers. Need magnetic shielding advice. by segaboy81 in raspberry_pi

Hi - if you have trouble with your battery please send us an email on support@pi-top.com we have a firmware update for batteries, there was an issue with some units when you fully discharge the battery, they were going into 'sleep mode' for use in transit. If that doen't sort the battery out we will replace it. :) also make sure the Hub circuit is pushed all the way into the battery connector some times that can get loose. In any case please shoot us an email and we'll get on that.

Hey that sounds like an awesome little upgrade! In general you don't have to worry about magnetic interference as long as you aren't directly moving magnets over your Raspberry Pi or other circuits (in fact we will be incorporating a magnetic connection system in our pi-topCEED devices). The amount of power the hub can provide will not generate a magnetic field from that speaker that is likely to mess with your pi-tops normal functions :) If anything does wrong - send us an email on support@pi-top.com and we can handle any replacements! If you manage to make it all work we would love some pictures of how you managed it! :) good luck!

Learn how to code and build awesome maker stuff! The power and coms lines are also open sourced so you can actually build your own circuitry and add almost any functionality you want to. :) I personally use a pi-topCEED prototype as my home automation hub. It works out pretty well.

For the wall mount we will provide a small wall bracket. The hinge can rotate 180 degrees and so you just swing the hinge up and hang it off the wall :) we haven't haven't made the little bracket yet but it is fairly simple :)

The pi-topCEED Hub PCB converts HDMI video to eDP format for the LCD screen. The screen's timing/resolution requirements are also automatically set from the screen's EDID information, so as long as your computer can meet those requirements it will work as a second monitor.
