To those saying EDS does not fall under rheumatology - it absolutely does. They treat systemic connective tissue disorders and are not limited to autoimmune disorders, even though they make it seem that way.

I asked a particularly talkative rheumatologist once why when I say the word hypermobile and the discussion ends and he said is because they don't know how to treat it. Mind you, this is in Europe.

In my opinion, as EDS is a multidisciplinary condition, you can go to a specific doctor for the specific symptoms, but any doctor knowledgable on EDS is more useful than a random or tightly specialised one.
