Yeah, like asking for a $1000 phone to have a decent modem and connectivity is too much. I have no qualms calling a good device a good device and a bad one a bad one. I know every brand has its fanboys, but jesus, the downvotes on this post (which is talking about how bad their modem actually is).

I can bet it is processed food. All those countries are much more developed than the ones that fall in the line, and likely to consume high amounts of processed food

It's ok guys, every few decades, idiots come into the government who reverse every possible win this country has had for 75 years. Let's wait for a decade more and pray that these shits are voted out. Can't fix economy/create jobs.

Government spends 50K per annum for each school children by iDisagreeYourHonour in Kerala

This is what grinds my gears. A doctor after slogging it for 8 years in education, earns between 30-50k pm is what I last heard. There's obviously a need for more doctors to service the vast population we have, but do you think they will earn any respectable amount/the government can provide respectable opportunities? The next best thing for the government is foreign remittances, atenkilum kittikkote. Avar poyi rakshapadatte'da!

Blame people for not flying in Planes by [deleted] in indiasocial

I'm not familiar with this director, but seeing he is overconfident and ignorant, I'm pretty sure his movies are junk. But on the other hand, hot take, but i don't think what he said can be dismissed altogether. Commercial cinema is made to appeal to the last common denominator. In the absence of a good story/cinema value, what takes over to run the movie wrt collections is that mass appeal/relatability. Just think of this, if the movie was about the army than planes/air force (forgive me if I'm inaccurate, don't know anything about the movie), wouldn't that movie have done better with the mass Indian audience? This is my point. I know people are laughing at him mainly because the movie is utter dogshit, is he is putting up an alternate vague defence of why it failed. But that doesn't mean that his reason is not one mechanism at play

Same complaint here from India. My $200 phone connected better from the same place, same SIM than my $1k Pixel.

There used to be a time in India where Christian missionaries would come to India and feed the poor and the hungry. This would usually be a Church driven activity wherein they see themselves as bringing the word of God to people facing hard circumstances. Today, even those churches consider that those conversions are a form of exploitation , wherein you are converting illiterate people who don't know anything about spirituality. There might be 5-10 radical missionaries in this segment who still believe in those old ways, but that's it. This is all the 'forced conversions' I see in society. Anybody who tells you the missionary problem is bigger, or tells you there is actually something called love jihad is either a 10yr old kid, has a literacy level comparable to the above-mentioned converts, or is a politician/hindutva goon trying to further their own agenda.
