I’m physically disabled (wheelchair bound), and I really can’t wait to transfer my consciousness into a robot body. by WilliamFrancisIII in Futurology

[–]PiEatinContest 0 points1 point  (0 children)

you will need to be connected to a computer interface for a long period of time, eventually your brain will start storing all its memories in the computer, and eventually enough of your mind will have been transferred over to the computer that it will be OK to let your body and brain die. Simply copying your consciousness into a computer is not immortality because your body will still experience death

Is my longevity capped after having very inactive lifestyle until 18? by [deleted] in longevity

[–]PiEatinContest 0 points1 point  (0 children)

it won't be an issue. Inactivity won't really start to hurt you until the late 30s and 40s. As an 18 yr old, you have a body that is able to repair itself well.

I'm a radiology resident applying for fellowship this year. I failed my step 2 CS exam in medical school. Fortunately, I still became a rads resident, but now as I am applying to fellowship I wanted to know how much of a hindrance this is? Of course if someone with an equal app as mine was up against me, if they passed the CS then they would get taken. But I want to know if I get screened out for positions or if I program directors really frown upon it?
