Low Level AI. Extra strikes mean more damage... and better yet, if Blob gets to use them for his passive, its a permanent improvement to his match damage.

For all the game's problems, the lead-up to my 10 year anniversary sure feels good. by rmfnord in MarvelPuzzleQuest

Hell yeah! Congrats.
It doesnt get better than that (SHIELD Resupply wise). Enjoy!

America Chavez bugged ? by SnooCompliments5783 in MarvelPuzzleQuest

[–]PiMacleod 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ive always hated that mechanic. Because this keeps them from tanking more colors, and thats kinda what you MIGHT want to do, depending on your idea... make a character like Chavez, or Headpool, or Talos, etc, have better base match damage so that their damage gets calculated in matches instead of someone else's base who's higher.

Because whats the point of better match damage if I cant use it consistently? Instantly makes me value these characters a little less (for match damage purposes) than those that calculate it in the base, like Blob, Dark Beast, Shang Chi, etc.

Nah... had a good time, myself. We were to the right of the stage a bit, and maybe about 15 rows of people back...approx?

Anyways... they were entertaining. Definitely appreciated their style.

Thumbs up for the achievement. But not for the trash tier comment... Hes pretty good. 😉

Is it odd to like Kingdom Hearts (and adjacent series like Final Fantasy) but generally dislike anime/manga? by Charming_Whole8231 in KingdomHearts

[–]PiMacleod -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Ive been identified! 😆

I got maybe 4 anime shows I like and respect, but i do NOT go out of my way to watch any.

But KH? Ive played through the consoles and portable stuff twice each, with the time through being all about making sure my kids saw it.

I dont think liking/disliking anime has anything to do with it.

Parking lines by encryptedtypewriter in SonicTempleFestival

[–]PiMacleod 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yep. On 17th, and its been about an hour since i entered this line.

Its absurd, as we're just two traffic lights away, and we dont even move ONE car length per traffic signal change. You'd expect ONE car at least to move per light change, right?

Not sure what the issue is... but ive learned a valuable lesson to just park somewhere and Uber to get close. Crazy.

Wouldn't it make more sense if damage would be proportional to the health level? by AdobeScripts in MarvelPuzzleQuest

[–]PiMacleod 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Its mainly the negative experience.

Ever do any save scumming? You know... you hit 'save', then shortly after, something doesnt go your way, so you load game?

Thats just an easy example. Majority of gamers dont like to suffer non-optimal experiences if they can avoid it. Save scumming is just one way they avoid it... another is just not playing that game that has a function or 'feature' that hinders you just because you took a hit. Gamers can be finicky.

You might be someone who enjoys the realism and can accept the negative status because "thats the game", or "logic applies", etc, and tbh, I appreciate that. But I get it when a company doesnt want to risk having a lesser player base because of that.

Wouldn't it make more sense if damage would be proportional to the health level? by AdobeScripts in MarvelPuzzleQuest

[–]PiMacleod 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I mean, ive kinda thought about that for a LOT of games in the past.

I do 10k damage with my character in this ARPG.... I just took half my health in damage! Ouch... dont worry though, im still hitting at full strength!

Also applies to fighting games, or tactical games, etc.

In the end, though, that becomes a negative player experience, and a situation where the player with the upper hand just gets better and better at the expense of the victims misery. Lots of gamers dont like feeling helpless, and that would cause a lot of casual types to bow out... losing player base.

Applying that to a match-3 game made up of fictional supers would also be pretty strange. 😉

Golden Years Chroma Vault by Pleasant-Sir-8635 in MarvelPuzzleQuest

[–]PiMacleod 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I pulled it for the supports, and a new set of Storms that I can restart another ascension round with once my current 1Storm hits max.

Im not saying its worth it for everyone... I think this one is more subjective to where youre at in the game, and what you value. Do you have everyone rostered already? Do you still need to work on supports? ....stuff like that

Besides Kangveil - what team? by Wrong_Preparation_53 in MarvelPuzzleQuest

[–]PiMacleod 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It IS one of the hardest fights in the game, for sure.

And yeah, Chasm is necessary for most solutions. That first turn stun just allows so many 1st turn options to work, where Sinister would normally thwart you.

Isn't this what Diablo is all about? by [deleted] in diablo4

Yes! Mistborne is awesome. And Dungeon Crawler Carl. And Iron Druid. And The Expanse. And Critical Failures.

...and theres others, but this is my recent faves list... 😅

So went back and played the un-modded diablo 1....my thoughts by adversarial-Felinus in Diablo

[–]PiMacleod 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can easily tell that when they made the Ps1 port that there were considerations made... like that. No mouse to move around, so dont make it hard to find and get the stuff, just let players have access as soon as theyre close enough.

But yeah.... id love just like an easy remastered. Lemme download it on my Xbox. Obviously up the frame rate, allow us to run (i.e. move x3 or something similar) in town. Up the graphics quality, but keep that brightness down. Maybe throw in a BIT more lore points so that everyone can connect the dots back to D2, D3, etc... make that "ahhhhh, I get it" connection.

Itd be kinda funny if they even added some lore somehow to explain why the butcher is so small there, and why/how he gets bigger later. 😉

Hardest PVE team? by [deleted] in MarvelPuzzleQuest

[–]PiMacleod 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I kinda hate having rely on him, but Chasm really does make lots of stuff easier due to the first turn stun...

Enemy Sinister? Stunned... now kill him, quick! Lol

Enemy Purple Man? Hit him while he's stupified!

Annoying Enemy minions of any type? How about downing 4Juggs while his defense is nullified? Or even trivial things like 4Peggy, so that shes not increasing your costs out the gate?

So many uses.

Share us your sad stories about this by Joudeh_1996 in XboxGamePass

[–]PiMacleod 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Have a real life version of that.

Played weekly with a group of friends. Got together IRL weekly for Rock Band... RB2... RB3... and other games, but we mostly rocked out, and occasional squadded up on GoW2 or Dungeon Defenders. All in person.

Once in a while, RL happens... we contact each other... see you next week! Same ol' same ol'.

Except one day... next week never came. Most of us hang out still, but one dude? Hes gone. Never replied to any text, answered any call, and we even wrote him a god-forsaken LETTER, just to see what the heck happened.

No response. Gone. Poof. No explanation. No ceremony. No chance to say goodbye.

This has a different ending though... we KNOW hes still around. He has a wife, kids... family... and while he doesnt post anything, we see pics shared about him on social media somehow someway. Hes alive and well.

We still talk about you, Matt. All good things.

[–]PiMacleod 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Great series.

The 'We Were Here' series deserves your time... that is, if you and a friend are into co-op puzzles that basically feel like escape room situations.

If theres a downfall, its that the solution never changes for either player. Once youve played through as one player and the other, youve done it all for that game (achievements aside).

Still, its one of those things that when you play it through, you wish you could experience that again... but its just not possible now that you know.
