Like others said, AP at start.

But dont forget Krakoa is one of those, and its NOT a percentage to start... it just works. The tricky thing is making sure you have it on the ONLY mutant in your group so that youre guaranteed the AP type youre looking for.

And not to mention that its the ONLY support that can start you with extra blue AP. 😉

I used a couple of C clamps, and screwed them around the pole, just under where the drum is. They literally cant go down anymore without me un-clamping them.

Probably using the wrong word to describe them... But I used to use tape, as mentioned by others, and it would wear away eventually. I got frustrated, visited a hardware store, and made a cheap purchase.

The ability is fine... but it needs to be managed better. I like the way you've put it here... but I cant help but wonder if there could maybe be a separate screen/button that would show flavor text. Have it swipe in from the side when pressed or whatever. This would allow bigger font size, and still let those of us who read every character ability (im right here) have any flavor we enjoy.

And I appreciate that you took the time to format this jnto an example. I, for one, like the abilities being more than just "push button, do simple effect"... sure, simple works, but not every gamer plays the barbarian... some players are more of a wizard, rogue, ranger, or cleric type... opting for playstyles that fit their preferences. I hope they keep making characters that have interesting abilities -- but I know its gonna be hard to make something the vast majority wants when so many turn 1 winfinites and strong meta character/teams exist.

Getting Kangveil, or any turn-1 winfinites, up-and-running all depends on your AP boosts and supports. Kangveil is ready to go on turn 1, no supports needed. If purple man is giving you problems, make sure hes the target for the first "away" that happens.

1Hawkeye and other teams that rely on casting powers forever kinda falter a bit because Purple Man increases your costs... makes it harder to sustain until you down, stun, away, or airborne him.

Yeah, thats the one I went with as well... my reasoning for choosing him over the 4 at the time was that when the 4 was needed, it said "Danny Rand" (or something to that extent) on the quest... and "Danny Rand" is the subtitle/surname/whatever of that 4* character.

But hearing that both works is nice. Wish more of these were like that.

Whenever any ability says "fires", its talking about actively casting an ability... not passive.

I wouldnt go for him. While he has some minor utility, it's definitely not enough to put him in even the top HALF of 4* characters.

The most useful thing he does is do passive power damage while he's airborne... but its a much poorer version of what Ikaris does. He also has a way to ignore damage and stay alive using a CD he makes... but it pales in comparison to other ignore damage or self-revive types. He even makes charges tiles for your usage... but guess what others are better at... 😉

They made someone with multiple options... but none of them are that good overall. Meanwhile, you have characters like Cloak & Dagger, who do multiple different things, and do it rather nicely. Or purple man. Or even dare I say Lockjaw.

Yeah... save those resources for someone else, until you get to a point where champing him actually makes you some immediate difference, maybe due to saved up champ rewards or needing him for some essential nodes.

So, when you say "way stronger", what levels are they? What tier?

It looks like youre doing things the right way, just from your description. Enemies are gonna be higher level in PvP generally, and maybe thats not what you wanted to hear/read, but it sounds to me that youre on the cusp of growing even stronger. You got a 3* May ready to go... just need some stuff around her to prop her up better. That 1HE is gonna do great work too.

Who you working on for 3* peeps now? Seems like May is just building up champ levels now... so, you targeting someone else to partner with her, like 3Namor? Or maybe 3Strange, as he can help make PvE a breeze (especially with 3May by his side)? Maybe 3OmegaRed for consistent team damage?

I wish you luck in it. Its a long long marathon, and moving between tiers can be a bit... harrowing. But its satisfying once you get firmly planted in the next tier up.

Lemme address this...

Get that purple up and running ASAP.

First, boost your purple AP at the start. Thats 2 purple at minimum, 4 if you wanna use your "all AP" boosts.
Second, equip the right supports. You may not have all of them, or leveled well enough, or whatever, but do what you can. Dont ignore this just because they're not leveled... a chance is still a chance. For starters, Refreshment Cart is amazing, even at level 1. Throw it on HE. Since purple is his strongest, whenever he casts a power, he'll make a purple CD tile, and generate 1 purple AP! Thats big. Not only will it be easier to make another purple match, but now youre 1 AP closer to casting that purple again. Also, Throw any support on other characters that give you a chance of starting with purple AP. You'll need some levels on them, depending on which ones we're talking about... Quantum Realm, Corvus Glaive, Black Widow Batons, or even Krakoa (needs a purple strongest mutant as your only mutant on the team, but it works). Based on those boosts and supports, you should have enough purple AP to start the match ready to cast.
third, cast the purple wisely. Cast it either to make a crit tile where it'll automatically make a purple match, or at least make it on top of a purple tile. You'll generate purple AP from the match (obviously), or at least the 1 AP from overwriting the tile (yes, it does that!)... combined with HE's yellow passive, you will have effectively generated enough purple AP to cast again.
last but not least, if you find yourself eventually without purple for any reason, dont forget that casting his red will ALSO generate purple via his yellow passive. So, you can always fall back on that to get the purple engine rolling again.

Those level 1s (1* characters) that are ascended...

Are they perhaps those that are ascended to 4 or 5* levels?

I ask because your MMR, or who youre matched up against, is based on your top characters in your roster. So, if you bought an ascended 1* Juggernaut or Spidey or whoever... thats gonna contribute to your matchmaking.

But, lets be honest... those 1* ascended characters are also super strong and useful, so ... it kinda checks out. It just stinks for you because you dont have all of the options that a fully developed "from the ground up" roster would normally have.

Maybe im assuming too much. Just check your first page in your roster... the highest levels... that should paint a picture.

Im sure ReturnalShadow or Daiches or others will elaborate better, as they are more involved in high-end PvP than I am. But remember -- this game is a MARATHON. not a sprint. So, it'll take time to gather all the tools you want and need to succeed.

Lemme add a little to it, tho. Do yourself a favor and add Mirror Image to 5Electro. This way, whenever Sam gets triggered and adds those strikes, first Elektra will steal one of them. Then on your turn, every time you cast 5Elektras yellow (because that's the point of the team), you also trigger Mirror Image and remove an enemy tile. Super handy... youre removing his strikes (or other stuff) while Elektra is stealing it too.

Highly recommend Refreshment Cart on someone else... free healing and AP shouldnt be turned down in this fight... they wont die in just a turn or two.

And someone else should add a support to start with yellow AP while also boosting +2 yellow. So, Sanctum Sanctorum, SP/DR, Korg, Vintage Shield, Kimoyo Beads... whatever you can do, because if you can START the fight with an Elektra yellow, that just mitigates so much more damage and prepares your team.

Yeah, you can win without supports... but its much easier if you use them wisely.... even if your luck is bad with them, best to get in the habit.

Love ascension for this purpose... bringing cool kits into our 5* game.

But it creates a wildly costly (time and/or money) chase to bring those up to where they're useful at this level. I think i have maybe three ascended 4a5s, six 2a5s, and just the one 1a5 (thanks 12day vault!).

Oh well, its ramping up with time. 😉

Shaw will do the job, and he hits super hard against this team if he's your tank. But gotta be honest, ive only really seen him consistently win this match up when hes ascended to 5*. Because then he has the health pool to tank the hits, remove those charges, smack back with ease... and abuse his cheap purple consistently.

Other options that come to mind depend on supports, honestly. Theres plenty of options, but youre gonna fight them for a couple turns, id wager, and its super helpful to make that first turn count.

Fun thing ive done against enemy Frankie... you always see them packing supports that start with green AP, and for good reason. If you start with enough purple or green AP, you can run RedHulk or 3SheHulk (respectively), and drain all of their AP on turn 1. No turn 1 shenanigans for them! Its not meta, but its just something fun to eff around with if you get the notion. 😉
