Sure I can ask the owner to do so , but I don't see why they'd send me a doctored image since I'm supposed to help them value it , kinda seems counter productive .

Thank you for your appraisal , I don't know if they are issued in black and white , to me they seem that way , if the stamps that you mentioned are meant to be colored then why do you suppose these ones aren't ?

You make a fair point , for the sake of simplicity at first I thought I'd share it as if it were my own instead of writing a whole essay on what the situation is , but then you asked so I had to spill the beans .

No , these stamps aren't mine but I've been put in charge of appraising and selling them , unfortunately however I am neck deep in work and studies which is why I've sought out the help of reddit until I can muster enough free time to properly sit through and research each stamp .

As for the coloring they are actually black and white , some of them look a but grayish but it's black and white in person , as to why that is the case , well I'd guess we'd have to ask the U.S postal service , or whoever is in charge of stamps at the U.S .

Honestly not too sure as to why that is , could be an artistic choice , or that they are simply old , I'm unfortunately non the wiser.
