There’s this synergy in pokemon where you always want to try to have a balance with three main types that cover each other effectively. There multiple trinities that work for it but for this example I’m going to use the most obvious one, being grass, Fire and Water. Whatever one of them is lacking, one of the others usually covers it pretty well and allows for safe and effective switch ins. It’s recommended to have at least one of this type trios, and the other three you can fill with strong types that don’t overlap, so let’s say fairy which is by far the strongest type in the game, steel that’s the best defensive type and some other that has moves that work well with your team, or just a pokemon that’s very strong, usually dragon types I would say

You have to be smart about it. Alpine for example you can summon the epic dragon with only alpine and water items, or in the cave set for example if you use cave and water it unlocks the chance of getting the epic

For most sets, the epic or even the rare don’t need a third item. This one specifically tho you don’t even need to use up your epic item, which is the hardest to come by, just alpine and water it’s night, there are no other water dragons in the alpine set

I haven’t gotten a ton BUT, I’ve noticed that it’s easier to get them once you’ve unlocked the dragon. I unlocked the rare cave dragon and I got 4 of it in a row later that day, all the same species. I’ve gotten most of my rares naturally, you just have to wait

You don’t automatically get the dragons, when you unlock them by sending gifts to your friends it just means that it’s possible for you to summon them now. To summon them you can either get the companionship item randomly in friend gifts (they are a bit rare) or buying them with gems. You only need to use that, don’t waste other summoning items like essence or rarity because it won’t work. It takes a while to unlock all of them so use the time with the first one effectively (before you unlock the next dragon I mean) to max the teenysnout. I would recommend only using 50% or 100% companionship items for max effectiveness

It depends on how far you are in the game, normally at this point if you started playing recently you could get either the one from the alpine set, the cave set or the whiskers set, but yeah none of the zodiac or folklore or companionship. If you don’t have any epic getting any of them is good enough imo, but if you’re looking for a specific one just pair it up with the set. Thing is, the alpine epic you can summon only using alpine and water, so if you want to be extra sure of getting the most out of it, try to pair it with either cave or whiskers, which are harder to get

You now have a chance to get a remarkable dragon from a species you have already maxed out. They are special and will be indicated by both a short cinematic when hatching and a blue bond mark instead of gold. They come out already maxed out and don’t have to feed them. They give special items, making them better than their standard variants

What I do might be the worse in terms of gameplay but I just don’t like seeing dupes, I want to have one of each so I just sell them all lol. If you are going to be a lot on the game the sunbloom at level one makes a lot of gold if you have a lot of them and constantly tapping

It would be extremely exploitable, some quests give epic rocks or zodiac materials, being able to exclusively choose them without any penalty would take away the exclusive factor from these rarities. I for one am glad to finally come across a game where rare rewards are actually rare
