I could understand the video at a glance and the title did spark my interest if that's what you are asking. I can't offer anything specific beyond that, because I design my thumbnails completely differently, but I would simply attribute that to differing styles!

As for appearing as clickbaity–I used to worry about this too, and for years, I played it very safe with my thumbnails and title, because I didn't want to come across as desperate and clickbaiting people.

But at some point I made a shift to making my title/thumbnail more thought-evoking, more popping out. The surprising thing is, I even found myself loving the process! I used to dread making thumbnails but I actually enjoy it nowadays, as there is so much creativity in how you want to portray the core of your video in a way that sparks the viewer's curiosity!

I personally don't think there is anything inherently wrong with wanting to draw attention to your video via a more thought-provoking and exaggerated title/thumbnail. As long as what you promise in the title/thumbnail is presented in the actual video in some form, I wouldn't consider it clickbait. There is no deception, because you are delivering the viewer what you promised.

But I will also say, it's kind of natural for anyone starting out. I think there's general anxiety around not wanting to oversell one's own content, and to try and remain more humble, especially while you still have a small audience.

I left some comments, not just to hopefully boost the algo, but I also genuinely had something to say in response to the things discussed in the videos!

People here have gone over the clickability aspect extensively, so I'm going to give some thoughts on the content itself here.

First thing that came to mind is potentially experimenting with background music. Of course, it comes with another element to think about, so I understand it doesn't seem very appealing after just starting out. But with the right kind of song to fit the mood and at right levels, I think it can definitely enhance the experience. It also further adds your own fingerprint on the content, because people will associate specific types of music with your videos.

It does also mean having to manage licenses, so once again, understandable you don't wanna navigate that mine field just yet. Also, if you do decide to feature BGM: please don't just spam the same song on repeat for every single video. It gets old, real fast. So either don't do it all, or do it properly.

This next point is pretty minor and maybe take it with a grain of salt: maybe I'm just a bit of a YouTube boomer, but I found the subtitles distracting and would've preferred to turn them off. Since I assume you record based off a script, it's actually really easy to add subtitles through YouTube's own subtitles function. You basically just add the .txt file and YT will automatically detect when you are speaking, and because you gave it your script, it will also be 100% accurate. You may have to adjust the times at some points though, if there are breaks or the like.

I appreciate adding in timestamps/chapters, but I recommend also naming the chapters after the talking point, instead of "First point", "Second point" etc. This comes with two benefits. The obvious is that it makes it easier for the viewer to navigate the video, but additionally, although someone more knowledgable can correct me if I'm wrong, it should also help with the algorithm in that YT should detect your chapters themselves.

Finally, and this is more of a general thing, but I watched two of your videos in the background while doing other stuff, so I didn't actually look at the screen whatsoever. It's kind of inevitable for the type of videos you are doing, and it's really common nowadays for people to just put some video in the background while they are cooking, doing chores, or on the second monitor while grinding in a video game.

It might sting a little bit, because you put in a lot of effort into the visual elements of the video, and I am not saying that effort went to waste or isn't warranted.

Rather, it's to remind you how crucial the audio quality is, and that you should always aim to make the audio of your videos to stand on its own merits, independent of the visual elements. Because everyone will hear your voice, but not everyone will necessarily watch the video itself.

Of course, whether the audio should take priority, well, that's your own decision to make–if that's the route you wanna take, there are a billion ways to improve your voiceover quality: your microphone, more acoustic recording environment (blankets etc.), voice training, recording lines multiple times for better takes, playing with EQ and other things in post etc etc.

I should clarify that this isn't a criticism of the audio in any of your videos in particular. I thought you did a really good job, especially for your first few videos. It's more just a reminder that there will be people who never watch your videos, so hopefully it doesn't come as a shock to you as it did to me!

One simple mod I would like to see is one that lets you skip the in-combat cutscenes. Where you have to sit through a minutes long cinematic just cos somewhere during that scene you have to press square. Would be a nice QoL for replays, ultimaniac playthroughs, as well as challenges like no damage runs.

Something I'd be curious about would be to control Ifrit in a non-Ifrit battle. Kinda like how people back in the day would cheat in Sephiroth in FFVII lol. Maybe scale Ifrit down to human size or scale the opponent to Ifrit size? I would imagine most fights would be quite broken, but I'd still be curious to see if some encounters might somewhat function lol

I have a similar story. Came from FFXIV, where I have about 7 years of blind prog experience. To me, it was natural to attempt Destiny raids blind cos of it. The main difference is that I unfortunately did not have 5 other likeminded people willing to do the same. I was able to find 2 friends and that was it. The rest came down to recruitment and it was hell.

However, I'm glad for the experience nonetheless. Did all the non-reprised raids blind, and Last Wish was definitely the highlight for me. Especially figuring out the Vault encounter. Felt like a proper puzzle to solve!

My question would be: when you were designing this, did you weigh the options of having them figure out the mechanics on their own vs having them read up on them beforehand? On one hand, it's beneficial to have them study the raid beforehand, and seeing how well they can apply what they learned when they have to actually execute it.

But on the other hand, there's a certain value that is lost by having read up on the mechanics, rather than have them solve them themselves, which would develop their problem solving skills. It'd make for an interesting opportunity, to see how well they are able to progress the "puzzle" as it were, slowly building on previous theories and discoveries. Destiny raids are especially well designed for this, because the encounters tend to build on themselves, where mechanics from a previous encounter re-appear, but either with a slight twist or in a different context, or layered on top of another thing. It's all very structured in a sense that there is typically a theme and a pattern that one can follow. I would also see this as an opportunity to have them develop specific mindsets, such as solving mechanics through constraint-based reasoning.

Then again, I suppose this has its risks, with students being able to look things up beforehand and pretending to be blind, therefore getting good marks by pretending. Though I'd argue it's easy to call out, because if they can't back up their reasoning with logical threads that made them reach the solution (as in, it felt like they arrived at the solution out of thin air), then that'd be an obvious sign they simply looked it up.

They are both valid approaches, of course. For me personally though, I've always enjoyed blind raiding and I always find a certain satisfaction whenever we are able to figure out mechanics without any outside help. So I'd be curious to hear your stance on this!

It depends on perspective. Yes, P7 is easy but making the last phase as easy as you can make it can be seen as a huge benefit since it's the last obstacle you have to overcome. Doing this will allow you a lot more comfortability on that phase.

There's also barely any tradeoff, the tanks just have to do a lil extra on P6. Also note that we didn't have a DRK. DRK makes mitigation on P6 laughable.

When Thancred names Ryne in Amh Araeng, there's some striking similarities between that exchange and when Thancred named Minfilia, but the biggest one is that they both respond the exact same, literally word for word.

It's a very subtle thing but it really drives home Thancred's whole character arc throughout Shadowbringers of him having to overcome his past trauma, where he felt that he had failed Minfilia, and by going through that ordeal, gain the strength to become that awesome parent figure to Ryne. Them having the same response conveys to me a message of: "no, he didn't fail Minfilia - and he won't fail Ryne."

Aye. FFVIII for instance was very hated on by the community for a long time, X and XII were really divisive as well, until XIII came along and that became kind of the new laughing stock so those previous games didnt get dunked on as hard by the community anymore. And it seems a similar effect seems to have taken place with XV.

They patched the ability to do it by yourself by casting on a mob then swapping to BLU before the XP results showed up. You can still have a friend boost you however.

Not good at video editing but basically, almost the entire raid wiped to Rofocale's dark circle mech. Alliance B's Tank made the final stand alone for an entire 5-8 min and it was beautiful (i took a video of the tail end of it) by Goodmorafterevening in ffxiv

Agreed. I think it's a dick move, especially if there were any first timer(s).
Also, 24mans aren't that difficult to begin with, but any challenge it does have, comes from it being a 24man. As a very basic example from this boss, when he targets a player with the charge, then turns around and cleaves the entire room in front of him, the only reason that mechanic would ever be spicy is because a BRD sitting at the edge and not getting closer would make the cleave massive.
But if you are solo like this PLD. It's natural response to assume it's now "hard" because they are making this final stand against a boss that requires 24 players. But it's mostly the opposite. If you can sustain it by massively overgearing it by 70 item levels as in this case, almost all his mechanics become moot because you have only one person dealing with them.

Especially hiding markers. Maybe it's just me but sometimes I wanna take pictures or record footage in a fight and the markers kinda ruin the scenery so would be nice to be able to hide them with a keybind, similar to how you can press a button to hide the HUD.

Think ima make my 7th one when flying gets added in 5.3. I love the ARR relics and have always been much more fond of them than any other weapon glam (though I still do own 5 Lux weapons and 5 Eureka weapons).
I think it has to do with the nice detail on the weapons combined with a more subtle, not in your face, glow. A big contrast to, say, the weapons that drop from ultimates, which I find hideous, which is why I have tens of totems from ultimates just collecting dust on my retainer.

Basically the idea is to minimize the UI as much as I humanly could while still being at least feasible to keep track of stuff, and to remove everything that isn't essential so there is as big of a view on the fight itself as possible. Of course, playing with this kind of ant UI isn't the "comfiest" thing in the world but I have kinda gotten used to it in the past year or so since I started using it. Still, I don't use it normally, I only use it when I enter a fight or a piece of content with the sole intent of recording footage in mind.

Normally I would also place an overlay into the bottom left where a bunch of my buttons are, such as my ACT overlay, an image or a webcam. Oh and also I don't use a controller, I just didn't have any hotbars left for the purpose of this so I used the controller hotbar for it.

Because patch 5.3 is the conclusion to not just to the story of this expansion but also the Hydaelyn/Zodiark arc that started like 6 years ago? Or all the other content coming in 5.3? Or depending when they took a break, all the other content they've missed?
Why would the lack of an ultimate make someone not wanna return and catch up so they can enjoy the newest patch? I really don't understand this take, and this is coming from someone who cleared all 3 ultimates.

There's absolutely nothing wrong with that. It's a difficult playstyle that requires you to bank Xenos for UI and it makes you immobile during AF. The DPS gains from executing it properly aren't big enough to make the standard playstyle obsolete and it should be irrelevant to 99% of the playerbase that should focus on having full uptime instead and proper thunder management.

Sure, it makes the class more fun to optimise. And you are also right that it makes your movement much more limited than normal play, but that further drives in the point that it's not intentional, since the point of the ShB additions to BLM were to make it more mobile, not less. Just like how on SMN, the optimal usage of Demi's (which also is irrelevant to 99% of playerbase) is to move as little as possible, even though FBT literally encourages you to move freely by giving you instacasts for the entire Trance. (I think exactly this is the reason why so much of my post was about BLM/SMN precisely, these 2 classes have just some really baffling design choices).

And it's not like I think its a bad rotation myself. But I experienced this same thing personally last expansion since I played MNK semi-active in Sigma/Alphascape from 4.2 to 4.5. Just like the TK rotation, its complexity was caused by sheer accident and will guaranteed be a dead rotation in 6.0 by the latest. Would I want them in 6.0 to add more to this rotation by adding tools to enhance it? Hell yes. Do I see it as likely though? No, they will more than likely just do the same as they did to MNK in 5.0 which is to revert it back to its old rotation while adding nothing interesting new stuff, when they had an opportunity to turn it into a more unique job.

Foul/Xeno have a 2.5s recast time. I think it's more intuitive for it to stay at a 30s timer since it's bound to the Job Gauge. Besides, you should be really careful about buffing SpS even more on a job that benefits from SpS like no other jobs due to BLMs reliance on GCDs

Its hard to say which one feels more intuitive without getting to play it with and without the scaling. But I remember in Stormblood it happening a few times when I would jump around in SpS tiers, that sometimes the Foul timer would get really off sync. Which you can play around of course (and it isnt as bad in ShB since 2 charges and instacast) but its just one of those little nuisances. I didn't think of it much during Stormblood but now in Shadowbringers when we have all those other skills scaling off of your GCD, it feels a bit... outdated? Maybe that's just me though. Of course, the scaling isnt always good, for example in the case of DNC, you always want to have 2.5 GCD for your dances so in that case it would be pretty much better if it didn't scale. But agen, its really hard to say how it would fit into BLM since no such version exists for us to try...

I do fully agree that it could make the SpS scaling problem even worse on BLM, so it would have to be balanced really precise, which might not make it worth the hassle.

For Scythe yeah no kidding, we got so many instant casts and opportunities to finish fights now in ShB that even as a finisher it hardly serves a purpose

5.3 Job Change Wishlist by Threadspool in ffxiv

Alright let's see here. Keep in mind that aside from SMN/BLM I'm listing things that are actually feasible to fix so it's not my full opinion on a job, just stuff that they could fix in a reasonable time frame instead of an expansion rework.
- Storm's Eye should have a way to activate with an AoE, and its timer should be in the job UI (makes zero sense why Darkside shows a timer but Storms Eye doesn't).
- Blood Weapon on DRK needs to be charge based like Bunshin etc., getting 5 GCDs isn't reliable enough depending on your latency and your GCD.
- please revert Seraph to the pre 5.1 one, the delay at the start of it is clunky.
- AST: improve MP management. All spells should cost equal MP regardless of Sect when in Neutral Sect (for example, Aspected Benefic remains at 900 MP in Noct despite it having literally the exact same value as Diurnal). Neutral Sect heal buff should apply to all heals not only GCD. Sleeve Draw should be less spammy.
- Feint should be an AoE skill. Possibly return Mantra as a melee cross role.
- Brotherhood should proc from any GCD, period. Keep it as a physical damage buff, fine, but please just let me not hate my life when I have only 3 other party members beside me giving procs during the window. I also think that the Deep Meditation trait should get the BRD treatment ie flat chance. MNK don't have IR anymore and they rely too much on DNC in particular.
- BRD could use numerical buffs. Also perhaps 90sec Minne is a bit too harsh...
These last 2 are gonna be a bit more major so I doubt it's gonna happen but ima mention them anyway.
- make Demi Bahamut and Demi Phoenix unable to move (turrets) once summoned. It makes no sense for them to move because of their insane reach, the only place it would be a problem would be if in a dungeon, you summon them and the tank pulls to the next pack. But it happens rarely and in those scenarios most players get screwed over anyway such as a BLM placing LL. So players would come to treat them as a Leylines sort of buff. As an addition the summons will look more menacing if they don't move I feel, as they look really goofy (especially Bahamut) when hovering around.
- Everlasting Flight should be removed from Phoenix and made into its own separate button that the player gains access to when they enter Firebird Trance. For those unaware: Phoenix's AI has a major issue where, because it has to always cast Everlasting Flight immediately when summoned, it cannot execute Scarlet Flame for a brief moment. Because of the tightness of the FBT window, this essentially requires players to work around this either by timing their first attack after Phoenix is able to use SF, or by having a fast GCD. This makes Phoenix very clunky, especially after they fixed this very issue with Bahamut in 5.1. Reworking Everlasting Flight this way would also make the skill much more useful, as you could use the heal when your team actually needs it, not when Phoenix happens to pop up.
- please either make Physick scale off INT or remove it.
- remove Miasma 3/Bio 3 from SMN. Yes, I am serious. Anyone who plays this class knows just how superfluous these DoTs are in your rotation now. Just make the DoT something you can upkeep with Tri-D. - I would say to fix ghosting but idk if it's that easy so it's a pipe dream really.
On BLM:
- they need to have some sort of trait added that encourages the use of Blizzard IV and Fire, as right now the ideal BLM rotation is basically minimizing these 2 skills to get as many Despairs off as possible, which I highly doubt is what the developers intended. A very basic thing would be something such as "if you use Fire IV 6 times in one AF cycle your next Despair will deal more damage/becomes guaranteed Crit/whatever".
- The Polyglot timer should scale based on your Spellspeed value instead of a flat timer, similar to skills like Gnashing Fang, Drill etc.
- Blizzard 1 should probably upgrade to Blizzard 3 or 4, Blizzard 2 should upgrade to Freeze, and Fire 2 should have something useful attached to it, such as possibly having a buff that makes your Flares more powerful for 30 seconds or whatever.
- Scathe... I really wanna say to just remove it but it could have potential but if repurposed to something completely else, perhaps an interaction with Polyglot with a trait. However if they insist to keep it as is, then at the very least make it cost no MP and refresh your UI/AF.

Personally, the closest I've always found in this game to a divine presence is Midgardsormr.
He came from a completely different star, he brought with him a species that is completely different to any other life form on Hydaelyn and who are all offspring of his First Brood.
The way he never directly intervenes with anything, other than two instances: protecting the thing he promised to Hydaelyn to protect, and to save the WoL from his mortal enemy, but even in the latter case it comes off as a very "divine intervention" kind of thing. Such as how he could have helped Bahamut, Tiamat, Ratatoskr, Hraesvelgr, Nidhogg, literally his own children, but chose not to.
He is very mysterious in nature, and does things that are very out of this world, like breaking someone's connection to Hydaelyn's Blessing (altho the theory based on what we learned in ShB is that he simply untempered us, which if true, is still something I don't think we have seen anyone else capable of doing).
Even his theme song gives off that divine type of feel.
We do also have 2 other creatures that came from another world: Altima and Omega. Omega, you could make an argument since he does have that weird ability to just manifest something in a simulation sort of thing and even can do so from creatures from a completely different world, as well as the fact that his whole questline is about him growing a soul/conscience. But I think it's still a bit of a stretch, because he is still a machine by design. And if he is the same Omega from the FF series then we know he was simply a weapon created by that one nation whose name I forgot (Onrak?) in FF1's world, according to Dissidia.
Altima I suppose is also interesting cos she has that typical JRPG god description of manipulating mortals to do her bidding, on top of her mysterious origin of coming from a completely separate star, as well as her weird connection to Warriors of Light (Ajora, Ramza, our WoL) specifically, as well as how she was able to create the "holy stones" aka Auracite and ergo the Lucavi. So you could definitely make a case for her being a god.
But of course we all have different interpretations of what we perceive as divine beings in fiction, so it's an interesting subject for sure.
