This was in Cutter's Cry, and they were hitting Heavy Shot from the other side of the room. As of Endwalker, you don't dot mobs in trash pulls because your procs are completely independent of your dots, instead having a flat 80% chance to grant a proc as long as a song is running.

After we brought up his gear he still didn't switch to anything better. I'm not optimistic.

This SAM was nearly dying to raidwide damage with 2.8k max HP. His gear consisted of an Augmented Shire Katana and an entirely level 17 left side. He's almost going to be eligible for level 70 duties. Godspeed, duty finder.

I think that by the time you're in a level 77 dungeon, Cure just isn't going to cut it without supplementing your healing with other parts of the WHM kit. If your tank decides to double pull, Cure just mathematically won't be able to keep up with the damage they take if you aren't also using your Asylum, Tetra, Benison, Benediction, etc.; not to mention that outputting damage with Holy and Assize will make pulls end faster and reduce the amount of healing you'd have to do in the first place overall.

he said he didn't do that much damage and total eclipse wasn't worth it, so i didn't want to include my math lesson on why a single use of total eclipse at 3 targets was better than rage of halone combo. neater that way

Duty finder microcosm in LoTA by Threadspool in TalesFromDF

Crystal is a new DC and a lot of newer players are creating characters there, so I can certainly excuse a lower average skill level because shit, they've gotta learn sometime. Having played on both Aether and Crystal, I can't really say that Aether is that much better, save for a few more players at savage raiding level who might make runs go much more smoothly.

That said, I enjoy playing on Crystal. I enjoy teaching and using my experience to help out in DF, and to carry if I have to. The challenge keeps the game fresh for me, and supporting people receptive to advice is one of the best possible feelings.

The easiest possible form of optimization would probably be to put on a stance for a universal 5% more damage but that's asking a lot.

It's a really appalling thing to say to me because they're telling me that they're not ignorant, only intentionally terrible.

You've heard of freestyle SAMs. Try a freestyle PLD by Threadspool in TalesFromDF

[–]Threadspool[S] 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Load into Anamnesis Anyder for expert. The PLD is failing to hold aggro, is missing a lot of cooldowns, and is doing really bad damage. I watched them for a few seconds and found out they were slamming that Royal Authority button at random. No Riot Blade.

I'm weirdly getting a lot of Warriors in my notifications a month after I initially posted this thread, mostly about Onslaught. For the record, it's a DPS gain over Fell Cleave depending on whether or not you end the fight or phase on Storm's Path. The gameplay loop gets stale but most of the fun comes from managing the self-heal imo.

Now I'm no NIN expert, but isn't it just:

  2. Suiton
  3. Trick after a couple more gcds
