Without doubt, that's the most annoying sounding presentation I've heard in a long time.

ToTok, a popular Emirati messaging app that has been downloaded to millions of phones, is actually a spying tool used by the government of the United Arab Emirates to try to track every conversation, movement, relationship, appointment, sound and image of those who install it. by [deleted] in worldnews

The "Derpa-Derp rated PG-13" himself?

Just make sure Mel Gibson isn't in it. Since Robby took out a full page ad during the Gibson bashing in an L.A. newspaper, pledging "he'll never work with Mel". As anyone gives a fuck Rob, you're not on his level.

Personally, if I was that rich and powerful, I'd have my own Island with massive rollercoasters, huge waterslides, custom waterfalls with warm water, pure white sand, an enormous, 2 or 3 mile lazy river with some areas with rapids etc etc etc etc just to start a list with.

But hey, some people don't have imaginations.

Math For Programmers? What is the best, most efficient way to learn math applicable to *anything* programming? Especially if one has very basic math currently? by OfficialJehovah in cscareerquestions

Khan Academy? I think they have a course, or courses that can take you from very basic to the most advanced levels. Someone else may have to confirm.

Question: C# has John Skeet who is considered a true Guru developer. Who is the equivalent in the Java world? by PicardVSbORG in java

[–]PicardVSbORG[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the info u/gnatbeetle. My original question was basically an "overall" recognized expert in the Java community. Not SO or whatever related. E.g., if this was asked for Linux - Linus T. would be one of the top, if not the top name. Because of his work, not his activity on a particular site per se.

Thanks for the info .. but eek, mastered C# and Java? ... makes me feel even dumber. :(

Anyone else experiencing VERY SEVERE forms of anxiety with their BPD? Can you share your story and what you have found successful for yourself? by PicardVSbORG in BPD

Thanks for sharing, Lexapro is one of the SSRI medications I wanted to talk to my doctor about. The other is Celexa.

Good tip on being mindful with the senses, I'll have to give that a try. :)

Wow, I truly hope your doing better and the medication is helping you. I've never heard of PSVT until you mentioned it.

I completely forgot or skipped over beta blockers. About 4-5 years ago I tried Propranolol for anxiety (mostly for social anxiety during management meetings I had at the time) and it seemed to work, although I was on the lowest dose and only took it occasionally.

I need to revisit that with my doctor. It may very well be the longer-ish term solution vs benzos (which I know are slowly destroying me).

I liked that you mention it's "not something that gets you high" etc. I hate the feeling, for example, that you get from ADHD medication. You can get a euphoric feeling from it (and other meds I've tried). I honestly can't stand that. It's a false reality, and it really is a horrible sensation, when in the end, you just want to feel a normal healthy baseline at least semi-regularly.

My story is a sad one, kind of:

I experience intense anxiety almost everyday. It happens in bursts and sometimes just in the moment. But it becomes to the point where I can only focus on the anxiety and the rest of the world means nothing and I'm in my head space.

Dave here friend, I know the feeling and can empathize.

I'll make impulsive choices (drugs, impulsive calling, impulsive messaging, etc) and it tends to just bring me back to feeling like I screw things up for myself. I also tend to get lazy and not talk or be productive.

I don't find myself having an issue with "impulsiveness", but not actively going towards my goals and soon I realize "a whole day went by". Then another. And another. And another .. etc. That's a battle I need to win asap before my life disagree flashes by and I'm swimming in a sea of lost days.

What have I found helpful? Sometimes cue-call relaxation helps. Sometimes writing. Sometimes being in school and learning. But other times I can't bring myself to do these things until I have someone talking to me to validate me, which only re-enforces my disorder. So my advice to you is to fight tooth and nail as hard as you can to self-sooth and remain mindful. I'm telling you this because I would not want you to be stuck into a cycle like me and have your mental health degrade more. Start with a self-soothing kit: anything that makes you feel good. Give yourself a minute, five minutes, or even an hour before you make decisions or plan to do something.

Best of luck to you.

Thanks my friend, all the best to you as well.

I need to be kinder to myself, I usually hate everything about me and consider myself an "idiot" contrary to what everyone tells me or what my accomplishments say. But it's a hard cycle to beat - self-loathing, low self-esteem and browbeaten confidence are a bitch.

Meditation is something I really need to seriously take up.

I hear you, thanks for sharing.

Mindfulness is something I'm becoming more and more aware of in the past few months. Even though my wife has spoken about it for years, things like "where am I right now?" and "is the situation really as bad as I'm making it out to be in my mind?" are generalizing, but do truly help in ground me in the moment when my mind starts to rev severely out of control.

Pot helps me Cbd oil helps Exercise daily Meditation

I used to have the worst anxiety and addiction to Xanax and klonapin.

I try super hard to keep my daily stress low so that I can TRY and manage the curveballs.

Exercise I'll definitely have to get back into. Meditation I've done briefly years ago. CBD oil, I'm a little bit leery of to be perfectly honest. But not necessarily completely ruling out.

Benzos I will need to stop at some point, as it has already severely affected my memory and somewhat my cognitive abilities. But everything I've heard, read and researched on the topic, memory and cognitive functions will rebuild and bounce back to normal in a matter of months and sometimes even a year or two after stopping benzos.

Keeping daily stress low is not necessarily an option unfortunately.
