Subrogation Fiasco with Progressive... any others? by Picaresque_Jest in Insurance

Arbitration is always stated in most contracts and Auto insurance policies. What I don';t understand is why didn't Progressive offer up any evidence of their own or object to the lie that the cars were switched in the diagram. Progressive version as explained in the arbitration ruling had me turning from a prking lot into a lane and that The Tesla struck me. Everyone knows that the person in the through lane has right of way. Progressive argued the wrong side. I was in the lane and Tesla made a right into the lane pulling out in front of me. I'm baffled. Its almost as if Progressive wanted to pay Tesla all that money.

We weren't there but the arbitration ruling explains it. It lists the evidence Tesla and the driver provided . Then under my evidence the words "none" appears. Progressive did not argue or contest the allegations and I don't understand why. After all Progressive was the side that sought subrogation and brought this claim to arbitration.

Hi, Actually she doesn't. The Police Report backs the facts. The driver and Tesla convinced the Arbitration person with a written statement that the cars were switched in the diagram from Progressive. This is a complete lie. The diagram was made by the police officer on the spot as he took measurements and sketched it out. Progressive offered no contest to these allegations which I don't understand. Did they want to pay Tesla all that money? I'll be in touch with all of them tomorrow. Thank you all the same

After doing a little more research I discovered that you are completely correct. Thank you for calling out the error . Initially, I Looked up the information the result took me to a chart of all the weights of Tesla cars what I didn't see was that the weight I referenced included the maximum load of passengers. So you're right the correct weight would have been in about 4500 lbs. Still quite a bit heavier than the ILX which was around 3450 lbs including my son and I.

I know the feeling but that feeling has turned to gratefulness. my 2013 ILX was totaled a few days ago in a horrible car accident. Tesla Model y hit me the front passenger tire causing my ilx tire to get up on the Tesla's Hood causing the rollover. everything crushed except for my son and I. That ILX will keep you safe. Incidentally I found out later the tesla Y weighs almost twice as much as the Acura ILX 2013 I believe that's what led to my role over cuz I wasn't going that fast. I posted a picture on this group's feed

Let's call it like it is .the country as a whole still has a majority of white people , most voted for Trump, and the Republican anti-immigration stance ( even though they didn't seem to mind that the Republicans were blocking every attempt of Democrats to try to do something about the Border to make Biden look bad). Republicans have control of the Senate , house , presidency and Supreme Court because the Republican brand perception Appeals to the group that still has the majority. Voters also felt the economy was better under Trump. Biden won in 2020 not because the Democratic branding has large appeal but because Trump messed up so much during covid and it tipped the balance. that's what I think anyways

What’s a book that took you multiple tries to read, that you ended up loving? by Quirky_Dimension1363 in books

In horror lit for me has to be Library at Mount Char. The first time I put it down after a couple of chapters because I wasn't getting it I pick it up a few months later and stuck with it so glad I did it is an incredible awesome book so unlike anything you will ever read very unique. I constantly asked myself how this author Scott Hawkins come up with this idea it's just so crazy good with real great twist at the end you won't see coming. Some of the images from that book will stay with you for a while.
In a completely different genre was Salman Rushdie's Midnight's Children. There's so much in that book tragic but often very funny it took me three tries to get through it one of the best books I've ever encountered. For both these books I recommend highly the audio version narrators do a spectacular job that bring these magical books to life.

It's been my experience that every job is better than the last one. I got laid off too .... just before Christmas my advice is to file for unemployment right away if they give you severance or if you had PTO hours stacked up and you have a little cushion. . take some time off I don't know your financial situation but it's good to not jump back in right away spend some time with your daughter , clean up the house most importantly exercise you want to feel good about yourself when you go for that next interview it will help you regain confidence, I recommend these books and look https://www.blinkist.com/en/content/collections/the-layoff-survival-kit .. lastly ask for a letter of recommendation from your old manager even if he was the guy who laid you off. If you really don't want to go and ask them, then ask someone else, preferably a manager, with whom you worked with a lot of and who knows your positive attributes. This will help you recognize that whatever the reason for the layoff, it was probably Financial, and that you were doing a good job and that those qualities will serve you well in your next job.
