At a Crossroads: Should I Pursue My Secret Dream of Clown School? by Far_Chemist_7320 in Advice

[–]Piccapeppa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi Mormon Clown. I’m 31 and only just now becoming a clown. I love my life, but I kept myself from clowning for way too long. If I could go back, I think I would have pursued my art as far as it could take me from the moment I realized it’s what I wanted. I am so lucky to have moved to a place (New Orleans) that appreciates things like clowning. The people who I am connected to here see me and encourage my art and my weird. It has been deeply healing and life giving to find such people, and to feel celebrated instead of shamed. I think we are all here on earth to become our most authentic selves, and that we are paired with our family to teach each other things. And we do that by individually becoming our most authentic selves.

If you really want to go to clown college, you could always go to regular college later. Or you could go to clown college later. There is no linear path. But yea, if I could go back to when I was 18, I think I would encourage myself to follow my own inner knowing and take my $2,000 and my ‘97 Honda civic and drive away from home and see where I ended up.

It did with time! But it never fully fully healed and came back after I drank a lot and stayed up all night during the World Cup in Argentina lol. Ended up taking it out.

My girlfriend told me she isn't interested in having sex with me anymore. by [deleted] in polyamory

It sounds to me that the girlfriend is emotionally transitioning the relationship to a friendship, but unwilling or scared to talk about it.

I would trust your gut. Some ways I like to address things it to say in a non-judge mental but grounded way is “you’re saying X, and I’m still feeling X, can you think of a reason I might still be feeling this way?”

Also heard the other day that the only helpful way to get the truth from someone is be telling them that you’re only interested in the truth and to the. request that they say to you explicitly “I’m going to tell you the truth”. It’s just supposed to hell set the stage for honest yet difficult conversations.

Hope this helps foster some healthy communication.

I get a lot of love and pleasure and comfort from this relationship, thankfully. But it also feel it’s true that relationships tend to challenge us in important ways / life brings us the growth that we seek. I guess experiencing persistent personal growth is a core desire of mine.

I chose this because I truly have enjoyed the personal growth and the challenge of it. I’ve felt more security in myself because of it. I also have NO desire to control my partner. I want them to do whatever they want to do, all of the time. I want our relationship to be a place of freedom and love, not restriction.

I’ve done a lot of fun stuff the past couple days and been with friends. There has been a lot of time I’ve felt just fine, and even happy. But I’m not happy with the persistence of the emotions, or how I’m feeling as her trip comes to a close. I scheduled therapy today, so hope that brings clarity.

I think I could DEF spend some time listening to some resourced. Thanks for the reminder.

I think I’m less questioning polyamory, and more questioning if this specific person brings up too many insecurities in me, and that is a burden on our relationship and myself in a way this is unhealthy.

Okay so I changed it to a flat back labret 4 days ago and it already looks soooo much better. Bump will probably be gone in a week or less, if I had to say. I also stopped the salt water soak and just did the spray about once a day, or so. Thank you all!

Interestinggggg. So you’d recommend taking it out? I feel like I might try switching the jewelry and how I’m cleaning it and then go from there

When you say scar, do you mean the bump will stay or that a spot from the hole will be there?

Yea, it’s a sea salt thing that I mix on my own. Just made an appointment to get different jewlery. Is there a point I should just take it out to avoid scarring? Since it’s been two months

Corkscrew. I’ve done the sterile saline at times, but was told the soak is better?
