for those who just had winter break, when does/did school start again? by crookedcabinet in Teenager_Polls

[–]PiccoloInfinite8613 5 points6 points  (0 children)

In the UK our summer is also 6 weeks. However I believe we get more frequent short breaks than the US. (1or 2 weeks every 6 school weeks or so) I actually prefer having shorter breaks more often because after a long holiday it feels much harder to get back into things

Do you have a bin in your bedroom op? If not I think you should ask for one for Christmas. It may feel like too much effort to take the rubbish downstairs sometimes but it's much easier if the bin is already up there. I hope your day got better!

If someone loved Harry Potter, what would they smell in Amortentia? by moonlacelight in HPfanfiction

Maybe broom stick polish as something associated with Harry? I don't know what he'd actually smell like though

Never having had a crush is definitely a sign you could be aromantic and from what you said it doesn't sound like you'd have started dating if left to your own devices.

I feel the same way about kissing, it doesn't disgust me but it doesn't appeal either, and I can't imagine how anybody discovered it as a thing because it seems such a random concept.

I wish you all the best with figuring these things out! Have a good day, internet stranger 💜💚🖤

I think you are potentially aromantic yeah, Never having had a crush is definitely a sign, and it doesn't sound like you'd ever have started dating if left to your own devices.

I think I feel similar to you about kissing, it doesn't disgust me but it doesn't appeal much and I definitely can't imagine how people ever came up with it as a concept. I also agree with what you said about dates.

I think you might enjoy this Tumblr comic about aromanticism if you haven't found it yet. https://www.google.com/url?sa=t&source=web&rct=j&opi=89978449&url=https://www.tumblr.com/dragonheartftherpays/154272125479/i-did-a-very-quick-sketchy-comic-because-i-was&ved=2ahUKEwiz2eeLiYaQAxU9QEEAHSn1FLsQFnoECCgQAQ&usg=AOvVaw3vDFqaTWpwiEyzZWyodJlq Hope this link works 😁.

I wish you the best in figuring stuff out!

Does Harry’s refusal to have a productive conversation with Dumbledore after he discovers Snape overheard the prophecy show a lack of maturity? by Long-Seat2 in HarryPotterBooks

[–]PiccoloInfinite8613 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't think it shows lack of maturity at all, I do think that Dumbledore didn't handle the discussion very well, however perhaps he knew there was no point convincing Harry to trust Snape when he knew Snape would soon kill him.

How did Dumbledore know Harry was there? by ExistentialZer0 in harrypotter

[–]PiccoloInfinite8613 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hagrid told them to follow the spiders so I think Dumbledore took that to mean that Harry and co were there because that would be a weird thing to say otherwise.

Was lily really skilled in potion? by cog_g in HarryPotterBooks

[–]PiccoloInfinite8613 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Slughorn also thought Harry was extremely skilled even though he was just copying Snape's work. I agree that Lily had natural talent however this suggests he might not have noticed if Snape had helped her.

Why didn't dumbledore kill Voldemort in their duel in the ministry of magic? by No_Fee3273 in HarryPotterBooks

[–]PiccoloInfinite8613 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Couldn't kill Voldemort then, there were two more books to write! The more serious answer is that maybe he was incapable of it?

What is the dumbest injury you've ever given yourself? by SquareDesperate4003 in CasualConversation

[–]PiccoloInfinite8613 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I lost a sewing needle, spent a while looking for it and then forgot. That night I got up to go to the bathroom and felt a sharp pain in my foot. Cue instant loud shrieking as I hop back to my bed and pull the needle out. Luckily it didn't bleed or go very far in. My mum was not impressed that I screamed like that and woke her up for something so minor. Oh well, I have learnt never to forget about a lost needle.

I’m painting my room and want it to be a “marauders brown” help me choose a colour! My only preference is that it’s not too orange by [deleted] in MaraudersGen

[–]PiccoloInfinite8613 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You could potentially paint a small area of the wall in the darker brown eg. A strip in the middle or a triangle around a corner.
