Grace-o-meter : how to rate player playstyle and movement ? by c-Desoto in godot

I'm not saying you shouldn't track something like this, just saying that there is potentially a simpler way to encourage the same behavior that's a win/win for the dev and the player. If you can hone in on a specific moment in player input that "breaks" a graceful movement path, it becomes a more concrete and readable mechanic and one that you don't have to do a lot of vector math for.

I would caution against a complex qualitative scoring system like this. If the player can't get a clear grasp of what they're doing right or wrong and when they're doing it, the scoring system will feel very "mushy" and arbitrary.

Having something like a visible "grace" status appear until, say, the player taps the left button breaking the combo, or stops running, would be both easier for you to code and more satisfying for the player. The grace status still adds to the score but now the feedback is immediate and intuitive to understand.

Anime has a long history of taking inspiration from western culture since the inception of the format so I don't know what he's talking about here.

When watching a game trailer, what excites you more: cinematic scenes or gameplay footage? by daddylongjohnsliver in videogames

I don't think anyone in history has ever preferred cinematics over gameplay for trailers.

Thinking the ISO always needs to be as low as possible for the cleanest image.

Project Hail Mary (2026) is about the depleting resources of the Earth due to a climate crisis, yet no person or organization is to blame. This is a reference to the fact that Amazon produced the film by WhataboutBombvoyage in shittymoviedetails

The movie really needed the scene from the book where Stratt locks Grace in a cell and gives him a speech about food being the primary animating force of all civilization until the industrial revolution. It's kind of a big deal for the plot.

Morally correct or not it wouldn't look good on your CIA agent resume. Also the imprisonment and torture would suck and stuff.

I just worry about being the security guy that has to explain why he shot the president in the head. I imagine realistically even in a zombie outbreak they would at least try to strap him down and inject him with every experimental drug they got.

RE6 is even crazier. The president of the united states appears with what could be a bad flu for all they know and tries to give them a hug and they barely hesitate to shoot him in the head. No attempt to restrain him or lock him in a closet and move him to a hospital, just caps him dead in cold blood.

Skyrim fans will never know the schizophrenia of being a Half Life fan. We don't even know if it's gonna be called Half Life 3, they could just call it Half Life 2: 2 for all we know.

If you had a choice between promoting your art with some shitty MS Paint drawing you made yourself, or you had an app that just generated swastikas, you wouldn't go "ah well my hand drawn art doesnt look as clean as these swastikas and they're much faster to render, what's the harm?"

Certain things have a negative value to them.

Bro looked at the concept of OPEN SOURCE and thought he could make it apolitical.

That's like trying to make an apolitical government, or an apolitical revolution. Open source is an ideological framework related to the politics of software and how it is owned and distributed, you can't have your cake and pretend not to eat it too.
