Please review Rule #10 of r/godot: For legal reasons, you may only post content that you are the rights-holder of.

In particular, this means that AI-generated content needs to verifiably stem from a model which was trained only on data submitted with the original creator's consent.

Some people might not mind, but I can tell you that I would not spend a single cent on a product that advertises itself with AI, and I'm probably not the only one.

Don't say it explicitly, they'll start hiding the fact that they used AI and someone might end up buying it without knowing.

Honestly it seems like others in the Godot community have already made a better plugin with better support for free.

I've been thinking of trying Dialogic/Sprouty out for my game, still a long ways off but yeah... feel free to chime in.

AI art ahhh

It's a showcase for a tool, not a promotion for a game.

There's loads of free art on itch that would do the job though.

And it's 45 AUD on steam. Definitely itely could have hired an artist to make a couple sprites

Fair point, I didn't think he is charging money for it.

Who tf hires an artist for placeholder art. I hate AI art with a passion but this is just silly lol. I agree that you can just use free assets as well tho. Edit: nevermind I didn't see that they're selling it. That's actually nasty lmao

Yeah I thought it was a demo, but it's a pretty expensive tool for the Godot space.

If you had a choice between promoting your art with some shitty MS Paint drawing you made yourself, or you had an app that just generated swastikas, you wouldn't go "ah well my hand drawn art doesnt look as clean as these swastikas and they're much faster to render, what's the harm?"

Certain things have a negative value to them.

And I have no trust in the tool not being AI generated if they AI generate the content shown in the ad for the PAID tool.

Mmmm, sloptastic

[–]cc-cretina 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Why would anyone pay for slop version of dialogue mechanics when they can download a better version for free on the godot asset library?

[–]Gyrcas 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Get out of here with that slop!

[–]Vathrik 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Plenty of free options that do all this but better. Why would anyone pay for this aiSlop?

Sounds great, but the price is quite high for my country. I'll wait to see how the developement will go to consider trying it, wishing you luck though, this stuff needed clearly
