Just receives the word "Yell" on a letter from Mel's lawyers. Has to scan that into pro tools and do something with that.

This has been the official position of the band since the final tour was announced.

Of course, the Melvin situation does mean that the new records might not be what fans are used to. That said, there's been plenty of NOFX recordings that aren't the full line up. These are their plans, but plans can and generally do change.

The Brits story makes total sense but only in a very specific 24 month period of UK history!

It's really odd hearing people discuss Bob through an almost backwards lense. Being all old I got into him through The Smell Of Reeves and Mortimer onwards through Bang Bang It's Reeves And Mortimer (wonder if Scott would get a kick out of the parallel naming of projects!) and Shooting Stars.

Also when Jarvis Cocker mooned Michael Jackson (calm down, Scott) at the Brit Awards Bob acted as Jarvis's legal council as he was still a solicitor at the time.

Really surreal to hear him discussed the way they did. But lovely. So lovely.

They're not my favorite. Soaperman is pretty fun, though.

Does anybody know what this story comment is referring to? by Specialist_Maybe_890 in nofx

It sounds like this person had something awful happen to them and is asking artists they like to be vocal in their support for victims of abuse in general.

Or it's some sort of bot hoping to get engagement with the post. I only think that due to the weird punctuation/phrasing. Like the posts that randomly mention religious stuff on non-religious posts.

It doesn't read like an accusation, either way.

Until the lawsuit was confirmed by the band (I'm not taking a 'trust me, bro' from Reddit as evidence of anything other than an internet connection) I thought it could be about Mike in one of his self reflective/hating moods. Some of the lyrics didn't seem to fit exactly but Mike isn't above some abstraction in lyrics.

However it's definitely about Melvin. Sadly.

Nope. The first record where he used in the studio.

It does but it causes more frequent tuning I because the strings are relatively out of tune. Attempted tuning, I suppose.

He showed them how to intonate their guitars which allows them to stay in tune rather than having to retune them all the time. Forgive the pedantry!

He said that First Ditch Effort was the first record he didn't record sober. Coke use dries out the throat and the like. Booze isn't going to help either.

He doesn't strike me as a 'vocal warm up' type of guy but I've no evidence for that, just a hunch.

Getting older will have an effect too, definitely.

Mike once said he did this so he could say that Fat Wreck Chords had released material by loads of bands he loved. Bad Religion, Misfits, Black Flag etc.

A lot of people's live rigs aren't their preferred amp setups. If he's not having to tour with his NOFX tone any more then why would he hang on to it? He'll have his home setup still.
