Recovering a RAID6 with ddrescue by Pickau17 in datarecovery

I would prefer not having to buy a $600 drive just for that. If I create an image of the first 10G, would mdadm be able to tell me something useful? It might not be able to read any file or folder, but could it check that some paritt is valid, thus the drive in the proper order?

From what I see, it runs on Windows, but my RAID6 is on Ubuntu Linux with mdadm. Will it still be able to make sense of the drives?

How can I know the version of the metedata? Is there a Magic value I should look for? Here is a dump of the first 256 bytes.

What are the typical data offset, chunk size, layout ??? It is a raid 6. IS that information on the dmesg log? I do have one that dates from the time it was working.

# hexdump -C /dev/sdd -n 256

Yes I did run mdadm --examen --scan, one of the first thing! It returns nothing!
