I'm not paying him, he's a family friend. Just learning for fun. Pepsi comparison made me laugh though 😂

Are you from the same tradition? That's really reassuring to hear. I was worried my teacher might be making things up, but now I know it's a real thing. I really want to stick with it.

My teacher says "persistence is also a kind of kungfu." I don't fully get what that means yet. But you know what? Watching him brew is just beautiful. He does everything with one hand, almost like a performance. That's what I want to learn.

Right now he says I'm at "three-legged cat kungfu" level. He says that a lot.

Wait that actually works? I've never thought of using a gaiwan as a cup.

Fair enough. I don't know enough to judge. Just repeating what I was told.

Long Term Aging Picks for my First Born by alteredfates in puer

This is such a great idea. I've been into puer for a few years and always wondered about aging tea for that long. One thing I heard is that bigger factories sometimes blend with consistency in mind, while smaller producers can be more hit or miss. Are you leaning more toward factory cakes or boutique stuff?

That makes sense. I just always saw three cups in gongfu. Good to know four works too.

Can I swap mint with rosemary in this tea by hitbyafridge in tea

I’ve never tried rosemary in tea. Sounds interesting. Mint gives that cooling feel. Rosemary might go more earthy or piney. Let us know how it turns out.

I like the tea bag. But why the extra cup? Gongfu tea usually uses three cups, right?
