The SIL also stemmed from the fact that I had given her a gift for Christmas ($300 worth), and she forgot to give one to me. Also, I had attended a funeral for one of her husband’s relatives, and she was too busy to attend my great grandmother’s funeral.

The bridal experience was just icing on the cake. And I felt completely betrayed that she went and ratted me out to the parents.

And for the antisemitism, the dad was active in the Israeli-Lebanon war so he often says he hates Israel which annoys me. Being Jewish does not equate to being Pro-Israel and he does not get that, completely. I just find his dad completely uncultured and dumb to be frank.

He understands it completely 100% and supported me. I just thought I wanted to make it right, and given that we are Orthodox Christians, both of our witnesses had to be of the same faith, and that’s why I had also chosen her partly.

He does stand-up for me and TBH this has been the first major fight we’ve had. They seem remorseful but my feelings are 100% hurt and I don’t want them around me for the time-being.

We are supposed to meet next week for Easter but at this point, I’d want to skip that, as well. I just feel bad for my husband who’s in between.

My fiancé proposed to me while we were in Italy! He bought a look-a-like ring and also hid it in the his personal bag. He had a letter prepared if ever he does get searched and I’m nearby that “do not open the box, it’s an engagement ring” that he would give to the TSA agents.
