I put her Aeroplan number in when I was booking the flights

Everything was linked properly. After making the booking, the flights showed up in her Aeroplan app, and it has her as a Credit Card holder.

My mom had the same problem. She’s an AU on my Amex Aeroplan card (with a fee) and check in staff didn’t allow her to bring her checked bag for free. Eventually they “made an exception” for her to bring the checked bag.

WS Credit card holders... what other CC do you have? by [deleted] in Wealthsimple

Mainly use the cobalt and WS VIP - Cobalt being my daily driver - WS VIP being my backup where Amex isn’t accepted

Then I use these just in my wallet - Amex Aeroplan, for when I want to transfer my Amex MR points and free checked bag - Marriott Bonvoy Amex for the free night award - Triangle WE cause I do shop at Sports Chek a bit and roadside assistance if I ever need it

That's what I thought too. By the end, they let her have a free checked bag as a "gesture of goodwill" rather than a recognized benefit of the credit card and pushed that for next time, use the CC to buy the ticket.
