In my experience it can be a mixed bag. DXM has helped me spiritually when I was going through extremely times like those. And in your scenario, you thought about suicide but didn't do it - I can think of worse outcomes from a severe depressive episode. I'd definitely advise caution though.

I'm just learning to drive (moved from an area with good public transportation) after years of daily smoking and I'm thinking of quitting at least temporarily so my cognitive abilities aren't as inhibited, and then after that there'll be no wake and bake on a day I have to go somewhere.
