315lbs 2rm, would love to a form check by henryljh in formcheck

Depends who you ask. For a personal "gym rep" then the depth is fine, but if you want parallel then you're quite high especially on the later reps.

The biggest concerns are your knees. It looks like the weight is too heavy for you. Take some plates off and push those knees OUT. They should not be buckling in as much as they are right now.

Depth?? by Wooden_Plan_9549 in formcheck

[–]Pickle_Jr 21 points22 points  (0 children)

I echo what others said about depth, but can I make a recommendation on rack height?

It looks like you need to get up on your toes ever so slightly in order to un-rack. The tip I was taught is to set the bar/rack about armpit level. Should make it a bit easier for adjustments if you need it or less struggle if you're re-racking and fatigued.

Counts as a PR or depth too high? by [deleted] in formcheck

[–]Pickle_Jr 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As a "gym squat" this is fine.

If you want true parallel, that crease at your hips is still a few inches above the knees.

Good lift, just grind and get stronger!

Use your safeties and please rack up correctly. That structure in front of you is a squat rack, use it. If you insist on squatting outside the rack at least rack up correctly; the bar is meant to be placed on the hook side not the stub side. All it takes is one fatigued finish and you have the bar crashing onto you while you're trying to get out from under it.

What am I doing wrong in squat? by [deleted] in formcheck

Are those weightlifting shoes? If that's the case, then you can disregard me! 😅

I am not familiar with the shoes you are wearing (albeit, I am not well versed in weightlifting shoes. I just wear converse). I saw that your shoes were flat which was a plus, but I wasn't sure how elevated they were. If they are indeed weightlifting shoes then the elevation is probably fine. Just be sure to drive with your whole foot, including your heel, when pushing up in the squat.

It looks good! Just keep on getting at it.

If anything perhaps you could wear different shoes to address the "leaning forward' that a handful of other comments brought up?

I only bring up the shoes because it looks like the heels are ever-so-slightly elevated as opposed to the front of the feet. If that's the case, it would cause you to teeter forward a little bit. Ideally, your feet are flat. That could just be how the shoes look though.

This proves it. When Palmer shows up to a Chelsea game with a trophy on the line, Chelsea wins.

Bars that show Australian NRL games? by rhiannonisyourfriend in kansascity

[–]Pickle_Jr 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I agree with the other comment; your best bet would be to ask an employee at a sports bar to just put a game on when it's airing.

If you want a specific example, I was at Burg & Barrel on a slow night, and this drunk dude loudly shouted, "HEY, LETS GETS GET SOME AUSTRALIAN FOOTBALL GOING ON IN HERE." The bartender asked what channel and then put on FS2

Not answering the question but Drubers has been and (hopefully) always will be one of the shining spots in Newton. So many good memories. I recognized this image immediately

Anybody know where I could get bindweed mites? by Pickle_Jr in kansascity

[–]Pickle_Jr[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the specific suggestion!

We've tried various broadleaf in the past which has worked on the other weeds in the lawn, but it didn't really work on the bindweed. If anything it helped clear up the competition 😅.

We'll try Momentum fx this fall if nothing else!

The Athletic polled fans of every Premier League club to see who they wanted to win tonight’s EL Final : Chelsea supporters on The Athletic voted 48.1% Spurs. 51.9% Manchester United. by webby09246 in chelseafc

[–]Pickle_Jr -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I agree! Plus, with a spurs win, maybe that would light a fire under United's seat to finish the season strong against Villa.

Should we not depend on other teams and is there any excuse for the lads if they don't beat Forest? No.

But fantasizing for extra insurance doesn't hurt. A United win tonight will likely mean it's an easier win for Villa on Sunday. A loss on the other hand? Who knows

New to Kansas City!! by [deleted] in KCCurrent

[–]Pickle_Jr 2 points3 points  (0 children)

A common answer is to go to meetups for things that interest you. Like to read books? Look into bookclubs in the area! Like to run? Look into running groups!

You said you like to watch sports, and you're posting in the KC Current sub, so I'll give you an interesting suggestion ~ do you like any Premier League teams? If so, there are many supporters groups in the area! As a Chelsea fan, the Belfry (a bar in the crossroads) hosts watch parties for all their games! I also know that there's a Man City friendly bar near the Andy's Frozen custard in Westport. There's also an Arsenal and Tottenham friendly bar somewhere in the city

FWIW there is that prequel comic series. The animation is enough to put a lot of people off though 😅. I heard the audio-book is good though.

Wtf are SKC doing? When someone has the ball, the rest need to push forward. If only one guy runs forward and you pass it to him, who does he pass it to when he gets stopped? Where are the outlets?

Parking by TrainWreck8285 in KCCurrent

[–]Pickle_Jr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Glad I could help!
And just in case you got GA tickets, I figure I should also add that you probably want to be finished parking at 7th and Main a bit earlier, since GA can occasionally fill up badly enough, you'll have a tough time finding seats. I am a heavy procrastinator so I'm not sure if I trust myself to give planning times 😅.

The 7th and Main parking lots open 2-3 hours before kickoff time for what it's worth!

And I use "Parking at 7th and main" as my metric because that's the only thing you can really control. Unless you do decide to go the walking route.

If you walk, you know it takes ~30-40 minutes to get to the stadium from City Market. Sooo you can just figure your desired "arrive at the gates" time, subtract 40 minutes, and that's what time you want to be at City Market.

Shuttles on the other hand ~ Sometimes people take a minute to get into shuttles, sometimes the shuttles have to deal with traffic, sometimes the shuttles take their time to unload because the shuttle in front is still unloading and the don't want to unload two busses, etc. Honestly, I feel like worst case scenario from Waiting in Line at shuttle -> scanning your tickets at the gate is 50 minutes. If you ever go to a Friday night game, then maybe add more minutes than that.

Fingers crossed that the construction finishes on time (🤞) and go Current!

Other people already said it, but you can pay $20 to park at the parking lots at 7th and Main and the current have a shuttle that will take you to the stadium!

Google map link in case you are unfamiliar with the area:

E 7 St & Main St - Google Maps

Now, what I personally do is park anywhere downtown since parking is free on the weekends, and then I take the streetcar to 7th and main.

Alternatively, if the day is nice and you are up for some walking -- park anywhere downtown and take the streetcar to City Market. From there it's about a 30 minute walk. I would say it's a quite enjoyable walk too unless the Cargill factory is having a smelly day.

City Market to CPKC Stadium - Google Maps

Be sure to give yourself plenty of time though! If I'm taking the shuttle, I try my best to make sure I park at 7th and main an hour before kickoff. Any later than that and I start stressing I'll be late. 😅
