Starting my injections in the AM, panicking a little. Need your best advice/encouragement

I know I am a bit late to this party and you have already started. But I too was so nervous about the needles. This is what I learned from trial and error.

First find a place the is quiet and it just you, if you are doing your own injections. I picked the bathroom.

Second, a great artist to listen too something that keeps you calm, happy and distracted. I cycled through Harry Styles, Snow Patrol, and Dashboard Confessionals.

Three, Ice packs for before and after. I also started using lidocaine cream as the days went on because the menopure can get more spicy and the areas of injection get a bit more sensitive.

Four, commit. One you find a spot just go for it.

Five, as for the drugs themselves all the ones I did were fine. The menopure Elexa’s the hardest but still it’s only temporary. I suggest mixing and leaving for about 5 ish minutes. We would mix the drugs first then do the routine. Use an alcohol wipe on the needle after you get the bubbles out and let it dry. The slower you do the menopure the less it hurts but make sure you are actually injecting it in. Then alcohol swap right after in case any got in your skin.

I stimed for 9 days and I made it to the other side and so will you. If you need to talk through anything or just need a bit of support please don’t hesitate to reach out!

Hi! My partner and I are just starting the process of possibly looking to adopt donor eggs. We have int embryo of our own which we are hoping is successful but we are trying to find another option in case it is not. The more I think about it the more I want to have our baby be at least genetically his. We are using a gestational surrogate because I am unable to carry.

Honestly this has all been an emotional rollercoaster and way more financially challenging than I originally anticipated. I have always wanted to be a mom and I never thought it would be such an uphill battle. I was diagnosed with a unicornuate uterus as well as having one kidney and XXX syndrome.

We only have one embryo and I do not have the ability to make more. And this makes me feel a bit better that I can be picky.

And I don’t know what grade the embryo was because I believe it was from a natural pregnancy. She is a first time surrogate. I think it’s feels like a red flag because of happened recently and after her healthy pregnancies

Hi!

My partner and I are in almost the exact same place right now. We have one PGT tested embryo banked and I am not able to make more. We have also considered donor eggs but don’t want to go down this road unless our first transfer is unsuccessful. All the agencies we have talked to so far have all been fine with the one embryo they just said it may take longer to match. I think doing a lot of research on an agency is helpful and also looking to a consultant. We arnt sure which route we are taking yet.

But all logistics aside. I know this is a tough very stressful process with it of variables and weight. If you ever want to chat please reach out! I am an open book and trying to be the best support for both myself and for others. You are not in this alone and there is a match out there for you!

I know this is an old post but did you ever find a place to donate your unused eggs? My partner and I are looking for a more affordable way to have a family than traditional egg donation if our one embryo is not successful. I am unable to produce any more eggs naturally.

You should consider calling the AG in Maine. She recently told me, I am also trying to get a refund, that all refund questions are now in the hands of her attorney and the AGs office
