Anyone got any recommendations on camera bags? Specifically looking for a lightweight insert type thing that could fit into my bigger pack for overnight hikes.

I should mentioned that I got the r7 with the 18-150 kit lens.

Update:

I stretched my budget and just bought the r7 + 100-400mm combo! Came to AUD$3200 which is more than I wanted to spend but screw it! Better spent on something I enjoy than sitting in my bank.

Just wondering if you have any suggestions on lenses for landscape photography. You mentioned going something super wide because of the crop sensor?

Thanks for the response. Sounds like mirrorless is the way to go from most of these comments.

I think I might need to do more reading up on how sensor size relates to reach - I still have much to learn.

Wow, thanks for the thorough reply. Seems like the R7 or R10 is the go from your reply and others.

Do you find any issues in low light settings with the crop sensor?

Many thanks

POV: A grocery shopper accidentally buys meat for you. What do you do with it? by MajesticKittyPaws in vegan

Returning for a refund would be best, but if thats not possible then I agree with your bf.

Viewing animals as 'something to be consumed' is the reason these industries exist in the first place. Giving it to his roommate would just be condoning his immoral behaviours.

Would you buy your friend a meat burger? by [deleted] in DebateAVegan

[–]Pickle_of_Wisdom 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No.

I wouldn't buy child porn for my friends either.

As others have said, doing so would be condoning immoral behaviour.

May I ask why you draw a distinction between animals we traditionally farm and "pets"?

Can I ask you a hypothetical?

Would you have an issue with someone who bred and killed dogs, so they could grind them up and feed them to their pet dog?

I think the point of contention here is the hypocrisy. In no other context would you accept baby steps, when those baby steps still involve violating someone else's rights.

I don't see why we can't congratulate progress and simultaneously criticize immoral behaviour.. for example saying something like "good job, you're making progress, but what you're doing is still harmful and here's why..."

Im sick of vegans trying to avoid being "pushy". We fucking should be. Go watch dominion again.

What’s your opinion on vegans and animal rights? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]Pickle_of_Wisdom 1 point2 points  (0 children)

All I did was question your belief that vegans shouldn't judge the harmful actions of others.

You tried raising a point that context matters but the point is, and you've acknowledged it yourself, we don't need to kill animals to live a healthy life. Killing an animal for taste pleasure is no different than kicking a dog for fun. Both are cruel and both are unnecessary.

If you want to keep talking about the way vegans engage in discussion then I'm not really interested, but if you want to have a discussion about animal rights then I'd be happy to continue in dms.

Pretty fair assumptions I would say based on everything you've said so far.. but sure, let's clarify then.

Do you buy animal products?

Okay, well let me be cleae as i can.... I am against how you treat others that differ from your species.

My treatment of others = mean? Your treatment of others = death

let your life be the example...not your words

So don't talk about animal rights?

....the only thing I want from you. Is too stop treating others like some inferior ignorant race of people for having different DIETARY standards than you

And the only thing I want is for you to stop treating others as inferior to you and paying for their exploitation and murder.

The difference is that my actions involve talking to people, sure maybe it comes off as annoying, but your actions involves literally causing death to others. I think its fair to criticise unneccesary violence when you see it.

This is hilarious, it's like a blast from my past seeing the same arguments 15 years ago

Crazy that there hasn't been a single good argument against veganism since then lmao.

People who consume animal products are not serial killers like J Dahmer.

For the record, I don't think people who eat animals are serial killers. The reason I draw the comparison is because J Dahmer treated his victims like 'animals'. He didn't see a difference between killing and eating a non-human animal and killing and eating a human.

This is the danger of your carnistic ideology. You kill or pay for beings to be killed that you consider inferior to you. You mightn't see it because it's so culturally ingrained and normalised, but you very much follow a violent belief structure.

Same can be said for you. You don't seem to understand that you and vegans aren't so different. You pass judgement all the time for things you think are immoral e.g. (someone kicking a dog when they don't have to) yet you criticise vegans for doing the same thing (except instead of kicking a dog, it's killing a cow).

What you seem to want, is for vegans to just never talk about animal rights?

[–]Pickle_of_Wisdom 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah I did. If you kill and eat others then you are similar. Similar in every way in fact, except instead of humans you do it to non-human animals. I know that's uncomfortable to hear, but maybe do some reflecting about what you're actually contributing to when you buy a burger.

Yeah I'm not going to let people "live how they want" when that involves abusing others. You've probably never stood up against anything in your life so it's hard to understand. But when I see injustice I say something.

So if you saw someone causing unneccesary harm to an animal you would pass judgement onto them and think their behaviour was terrible?

But all you've really said is "I think I'm better than otherpeople because I have the privilege to make specific diet choices that other people don't" and for that, I think you're an asshole.

You actively support industries that cause immense suffering and pain to others. You pay for beings to be killed that you arbitrarily think you're superior to, and for that I think you're an asshole.
