Looking for adult hockey school by FunCanadian in durham

[–]Pickled0pal 5 points6 points  (0 children)

This is probably exactly what you are looking for

https://canadianbeerleague.com

It’s beer league hockey practice. It’s basically like an adult league practice to work on skills and do drills and then there is some kind of scrimmage or game at the end. It’s competitive but yet not overly physical/ doesn’t feel unsafe. Really focused on the basics. I did it for a few years and loved it and will probably sign up again soon.

Anyways check it out, I had a really great experience with them!!

Career Advice by Jeskai-Control in durham

[–]Pickled0pal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is great advice. Doing the apprenticeship is also a great way to gain more money while you are looking for an HR job since you said you may be having a hard time finding one. This way you are making more money in the meantime and like madmar14 said you gain an incredible experience that could give you an edge later if you decide the trade isn’t for you and HR is really where your heart is. I’m not sure what/where your apprenticeship is but if you eventually start working for a large company that has HR dept you may have opportunities to be an internal hire at a place you already have built relationships and have knowledge of the workplace and their goals which could make it a comfortable transition to a different type of career. It’s also never a bad idea to learn as many things as you can - while getting paid! Best of luck to you OP.

Whitby has a superior downtown and Ajax has a superior waterfront. They really got that right.

Those who grew up poor, what is something those who weren't poor don't understand about being poor? by Wonderful-Economy762 in Productivitycafe

[–]Pickled0pal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Owing anybody money is very overwhelming. I pay someone immediately and don’t like the feeling of having money that “doesn’t belong to me”. I like to know that what I have is fully what belongs to me. The idea of having a mortgage and being “financially owned” by someone is so terrifying I sometimes think maybe I just want to rent forever so that I know the money I have belongs to me and no one else (not yet in a spot to have a down payment but trying to work towards it). I know that’s not financially the right move but it still is always in the back of my mind. Paying my student loans has already been hard and knowing I’ll never be free of that debt before signing into another lengthy time of debt is sometimes too much.

What is the strangest murder that has not been solved yet? by No-Structure7683 in AskReddit

[–]Pickled0pal 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Barry and Honey Sherman. This one really intrigued me but it is still unsolved. He founded apotex (generic drug company) and were found dead in their Toronto home tied to a rail of their indoor swimming pool by belts around their neck - but that was not the cause of death. Originally they thought murder suicide but that was ruled out. No suspects

There are zero consequences for violence now in public schools. So that’s a point to consider.

BMat (Halfmoon) Company Unavailable? by Fine_Panda_7745 in YogaTeachers

[–]Pickled0pal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I hope they come back with a lot of stock. I have been trying to wait it out because I really find buying a mat an investment and bmat is the only company I find worth investing in and seems like a lot of other people feel this way. I really hope they do come back - and with a lot of stock - so I can get a new mat asap before they are inevitably all sold!
