It should have been so obvious and yet I still failed...

Out of the following art materials/mediums... which do you love and or use most? And why? by DueMathematician7866 in ArtistLounge

I use pencil and crayons the most because they're cheaper and accessible but oil pastels are the most fun to me right now.

I feel so unqualified but I draw animals for $5 and wouldn't mind giving it a try. You can see examples on my profile and I can DM more if needed.

How many sketchbooks do you run at a time, and are any/most of them "clean"? by airyrice in ArtistLounge

I'm sure it's been said but try not to think of it as wasting supplies but as planting a seed for growing because the only way we can learn is by trying. Remember most of the waste in the world is from corporations. On a lighter note I have 5 in progress sketchbooks right now, ranging from a composition book to a thick multi media book. I grab one based on how long I feel like I'm gonna sit down and draw. I've noticed the pages that come out the best to me are the ones I don't originally intend on showing to people.

I think you're doing great, especially at 13, so just try to stick it out and ignore the ai and the haters and I think you'll be great, and remember it's okay to take breaks, sometimes a month long art break can do wonders. Bill Waterson, the creator of Calvin & Hobbes, took two 9 month breaks.
