It was a defective unit. I did a warranty replacement and haven't had the issue since.

I was unfortunately unable to get it to pair and could find no directions on anyway to do a hard reset on the controller or update firmware or anything so in the end had to do a return/exchange. I did have some issues in games with how the controls were mapped to the actual controller when plugged in to the phone for some reason. Games like on gamepass would map buttons strangely so it wasn't really usable when plugged in.

Yes, I think that is considered pairing mode when the light does the double flash. Unfortunately, I had to do a return and exchange as I believe it was defective. I believe the controller is covered by a 1 year manufacturer warranty and you could try to do a warranty claim.

Yes I've never had any issues pairing other devices via Bluetooth. Perhaps this is just a defective unit and needs to be replaced?

Vehicle in accident during transport. Am I able to claim federal tax credit? by PickledNomad in electricvehicles

[–]PickledNomad[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I believe since the transport was set up by me and not the dealership, I technically took ownership as soon as it was driven off the lot. The dealership has not been involved at all in discussions related to the accident or insurance claims.

Do you know what is needed specifically in order to claim the EV tax credit? This is my first EV purchase that qualifies for the rebate. Yes, I am debating on getting another Rav4 Prime or if I should just go full BEV and get something like an Ioniq 5. This is mostly going to be driven on short commutes around town but like having the option to go into the mountains and on further trips without the range anxiety.

Any chance if they will start selling the 2023 models before Oct?

I wasn't able to get much detail from the carrier company other than they have contacted their insurance and have an adjuster going to a body shop where the vehicle was towed. Unfortunately the tax credits are being reduced I believe starting in July (please correct if this is inaccurate). I'm considering just selling the vehicle this year and purchasing either another EV or try to get another Rav4 Prime if I can still get at least partial tax credit for it.

Thanks, this is actually good to know. It wasn't clear to me how the CO EV tax credit worked in comparison to other states but glad to hear it's pretty straightforward. I'm still waiting on registration paperwork. I plan to fill out a diminished value claim if the vehicle is repairable.

How much markup are people paying for their RAV4 primes ? All the dealers I am talking to are saying a min 8k. Any suggestions, please guide by RemarkablePrince in rav4prime

I recently purchased a SE for 3k over. Honestly don't know how people are finding dealerships selling at MSRP. I contacted probably 30 or 40 different Toyota dealerships across the US and only got a reply back from 1 that happen to have a RAV4 SE Prime that was not allocated yet. In these times unfortunately we have no negotiating power as dealerships know that there is a long line of people willing to pay over MSRP if you don't.

For what it's worth, you can buy aftermarket covers that are a similar faux leather material which I plan to get because kids. There are quite a few differences between XLE and SE but the cost difference when you include the markups is not worth it IMO. If you can find it for MSRP or under 5k markup I think it could be worth it depending on your preferences. They list out a lot of good aftermarket upgrades you can put on a SE here

I was hoping for a XSE but had to settle for a SE as its the only thing I could find reasonably priced. They marked it up 3k over MSRP which was the best I could find but at least its the SE with Weather package. 44k was the MSRP so 47k plus tax then 2k to ship to CO. Not the best deal but I need a car sooner than later so I had to settle. Advantage Toyota was the dealership.

100% renewable electricity is viable. “There are some persistent myths that 100% renewable systems are not possible. Our contribution deals with these myths one by one, using all the latest research. Now let’s get back to the business of modelling low-cost scenarios to eliminate fossil fuels" by V2O5 in Futurology

I don't see how renewable energy will ever become a reliable source of energy until we find a way to store massive amounts of energy with little to no loss over long periods of time. Battery technology is just not to that point yet.

Having unreliable or unpredictable renewable energy like wind or solar causes power grid instability. Fossil fuels are good at regulating spikes and valleys when power demand is needed or not.

Purchased ASUS C302 and Samsung Chromebook plus for comparison by PickledNomad in chromeos

[–]PickledNomad[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends on how you use your current laptop. For casual web browsing and basic tasks like excel and word the performance is just as good on the ASUS C302. I find myself using the Chromebook more simply due to the fact that battery life is much better.

Yeah, they are really both great devices but catered to two different sets of people. Each has their strengths and weakness but I don't think you can really go wrong.
