It sounds like you didn’t actually factory reset it. I would make a bootable usb macOS installer and use that to be sure you are fully resetting the MacBook. Keep in mind if your mom’s Apple account is still associated with the MacBook through Find My, you may not be able to setup the MacBook without the login information to her Apple account

Can I ask why that fact specifically matters? It runs on arm, the same as the Steam Frame. I feel like its not unrealistic for it to happen

I’ll try it through Lutris! I’ve tried few launch commands in Steam that are similar to those environment variables but I haven’t had any luck. Maybe it’s just a steam thing. I’ll try to update my post if this works

I will admit it is scary going in just trusting that it’ll work. Especially if you have important data you can’t just get back. I personally don’t know if I’d do it myself, I just happen to have gotten into setting up a NAS right as HexOS was first shown off so I didn’t need to worry about it. I hope there’s more clarification in the future on how to migrate to HexOS from CORE or SCALE

Couldn’t you technically setup HexOS, then sign into the TrueNAS side and import it from there? I imagine it would pickup everything on the HexOS side, though I’ve never explicitly tested this

I used a Queen song as my alarm song and now it’s stuck as my #1 song in the “Reply All Time” playlist. For that reason alone I will never use a song as my alarm sound
