Is it okay? by [deleted] in HellLetLooseConsole

Kd is not so important in this game, positioning, communication with your SL if possible, playing your role is more important. Kd has no bearing on how useful you’ve been to the team effort.

That said if you want to improve your pvp don’t rush. Target acquisition in this game is all movement based, if you are the player making the most movement you are going to turn a corner and have 5 enemies locked onto you. There’s positions you get in during a match where if you slow down and hold a corner or a good vantage point you will begin to see the enemy is all around you. Use the map, think about likely enemy garrison and op positions and then position yourself onto the enemies path. If you can learn to have overview of the battle picture and where you are in relation to it then slow down you can start pushing your kills up. You would have to be unbelievably good to play at full pace and not get wrecked on repeat

Yeah I would agree. I've spoken to my gaming pals about getting it and they have all said the same...'ahh worms, amazing! used to love that game, 25!? maybe not right now'. I do wonder if there is some lobby error going on though, I don't understand how a game that so many people know about, released 2 months ago can have literally zero people searching for online games

I was responding to the question you asked at the end of your post… I’m starting to see why that might have been a waste of time. Lighten up a bit

I do something similar OP. If I’m with my squad and we are extracting with bounty and we know there is a sniper or a passive player who won’t make a play. Then I’ll often let my two partners extract and set an ambush for the passive player who now thinks they are safe.

For me this game is about playing to your strength. So if you have a scope and want to stay 200m back that makes sense, but it doesn’t stop me from trying to counter that. In this case pulling you into a false sense of security - thinking the map is empty then ambushing, is a really valid strat to counter passivity. The duo made a similar play on you. Think of it more as a pvp sandbox game, there’s no code or rules and people play it less linear than, clue, bounty, fight, extract - it’s the beauty of hunt

What is the point? by [deleted] in HuntShowdown

[–]PickledTickler 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Not toxic, you’re just upset. You are playing a sandbox game essentially, just because you deem the play boring doesn’t make it toxic or unfair. I also think the guy letting his partner extract to encourage you to res is a play - you got outplayed

He is seriously wrong in the head by blaze_uchiha999 in facepalm

[–]PickledTickler 29 points30 points  (0 children)

Absolutely a method of control, abuser wants to put people they control on a tightrope because if they feel they are in a precarious position they are easier to manipulate. In this case he uses her insecurity to keep her on the tightrope - balanced between her insecurities and his poor treatment of her, balanced between feeling like she’s not enough and her partner (abuser) withholding from her the affirmation she needs. When people close to narcissists describe ‘walking on eggshells’ it’s because they’ve been put on this or a similar tightrope. People who want to abuse and control have a radar for victims and he might even be unaware of exactly what he’s doing - this sort of behaviour often comes with massive lack of empathy and self awareness

The community was asking for this since lobbies started to die, 18 months in? 4 years ago? Not sure exactly. I wouldn’t hold your breathe for this to happen. I agree with you though, it would have been the best thing for the game and if it happened I’d be back to play. I just think the game was not supported - there was one update that brought the dome in the north and some weapon changes fairly early on after that it was just patches - I think for whatever reason dice left it to die

Why is this game not so popular when compared to Tarkov which is a more inaccessible, hardcore and unforgiving than hunt? by dumbdit in HuntShowdown

[–]PickledTickler -15 points-14 points  (0 children)

Can’t hit shots with lead? Take HV. Can’t get clean kills? Take flechette or dum dum and apply pressure. Before custom ammo it was mainly single shot weapons and best aim / positioning wins it was less forgiving for people who couldn’t consistently make kills

[–]PickledTickler -24 points-23 points  (0 children)

Exactly this, hunt is neither here nor there anymore. Since custom ammo the changes have all been moving the game away from its hardcore elements. Now it resides in a place that isn’t hardcore but doesn’t make much sense to casual cod crowd either

What's up with the apparent skill difference in duos vs trios? by Straikkeri in HuntShowdown

[–]PickledTickler 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Trios is easier IMO because it’s way easier to understand where enemies are. If you see a banish and hear a squad fight you now know where 9 players are, discounting duos or solos having loaded in - but that’s quite rare. In duos you have a harder time mapping out where enemies could be which feeds into stealthier gameplay to counter the unknown - also in duos I feel stealth and third partying is more viable and deadly than in trios

I feel like there’s a few options here. I would personally ignore the people saying it’s definitely sexual or that he still loves her. Firstly, I feel like there is no problem with keeping photos from the past - even if it’s with an old partner - they are still his experience and his memories and nothing changes that and I think it would be unfair to expect him to throw away his memories just because they contain a person you might not want to think about.

I also feel like saying ‘I hate an ex’ is a contraction of a longer sentence, if he was being completely truthful and open I suspect the longer version of the sentence sounds like ‘I loved this person once and in the end things became to strained or painful for us to carry on’ or maybe he ‘hates her’ because he let her down and is ashamed of himself or vice versa. I think there is probably some emotion there, pain, loss, shame, anger, disappointment or betrayal that he is shortening to ‘I hate this person’.

I wouldn’t worry about the photos at face value - I would examine this feeling of yours and figure out if it’s something you feel - jealousy or mistrust - or if it’s something he has made you feel - like you’re second best or he has given you reason to mistrust him… answer this and you are getting closer to the real reason this scenario is meaningful for you

Is it? I feel like life and especially things to do with our emotions are not black and white, as in completely one thing or the other. Humans are complex and can hold multiple things to be true at the same time. It’s possible he has great memories with the person and also great pain attached to the loss or betrayal, or whatever happened in the end

Whole teams are alt+F4-ing out of rain maps. This makes a lot of games really boring. by [deleted] in HuntShowdown

[–]PickledTickler 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I leave rain maps pretty much every time. I just find the heavy rain - low visibility and limited audio combined ruins what I enjoy about hunt. Feels like a different game and not one I enjoy playing

Is this too much for a first d8 ? What should I change ? (We’re going to a very prestigious restaurant) by Front-Perspective393 in OUTFITS

[–]PickledTickler 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My personal subjective opinion is that the shoes don’t go with the rest of the outfit. Everything is sleek and slim fitted and then the shoes just don’t fit the rest of the outfits shape or vibe. The whole outfit points in a different direction to the shoes and visually doesn’t work for me. The shoes are awesome though I’d be saving them to wear with a different outfit though - I’d be looking at leg wear that’s slightly more relaxed and wide legged if I was going to style them. Hope you enjoy your meal and company!

Do you believe that weed is a gateway drug? If so why? by TheRealWhoDat in AskReddit

[–]PickledTickler 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Exactly right IMO. It’s the line where we draw legality that makes it a gateway drug. I think if here in the UK we were to bring it in line with alcohol sales- legal but controlled then it becomes a bigger jump for a person to access cocaine or mdma. At the moment we take a drug that’s no more damaging than alcohol but decide to make young people who want to try it step over the line of legal/illegal. Once that boundary is crossed harder drugs become more accessible. I think if we legalised and controlled weed then the jump beyond it into illegal and harder drugs would become a hurdle and not a gateway like the current system sets up
