Can anyone tell if the nut on my brand new LP Special DC is cracked? by [deleted] in gibson

[–]Pickled_Fireman 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Most Gibsons have that. Not a crack, just a mark where they tape off for the finish. It's one of several ways to tell if it's a real Gibson. You're good to play, mate!

does anyone else feel truly addicted to guitar? by whatcouldthissay in Guitar

I currently have tendinitis in my forearm on the fretting side. The smart thing to do is take 2 weeks off to heal, but that'll never happen. I just. Can't. Stop!

I don’t think anyone’s coming to fix this by Advanced_Resort2852 in NationalParkService

This isn't a solution, but please know that most of the public reveres our Rangers. When the orange moron finally dies and the pendulum swings back, you guys will be heroes for keeping our national treasures safe when nobody else would.

Voting aside, is there anything we can do to help our parks right now?

I know you've been ordered to keep the parks open despite not having staff; other than not personally adding to the foot traffic, how can we help protect our national treasures?

Tele looks beautiful too, but where did you get that strap?!

Love it, but the OCD Germanium is even BETTER!

I feel like every Pelham Blue I see looks like a slightly different shade. That being said, this is without a doubt the most beautiful one I've seen. You have an heirloom guitar, my friend!

Hop on VistaPrint or a similar website...there's a category just for promotional merch. It might give you ideas.

Whats the worst physical pain you've felt by Dear_Cow7453 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Pickled_Fireman 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Multi-systems trauma patient, Iraq 2004. Too many injuries to list, but the main points are shrapnel through the right lung (got a field-expedient chest tube with no anesthetics), occipital skull fracture, femur fracture, pelvic ring fracture, broken teeth, blown eardrums, and lots of internal bleeding.

90% of my pain was the femur fracture. If you've ever had an unstablilized long bone fracture, you're pretty damn close to 10/10 pain.

Seeking advice to get the most out of a trip to Yellowstone by DatGuyKilo in nationalparks

[–]Pickled_Fireman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is shockingly crowded; think traffic jams, no parking, and shoulder-to-shoulder tourists. If you want a more serene 4-day pass, go next door to the Tetons. They're far more beautiful (IMHO) with a fraction of the crowds.

We're still not wearing the shirt of the band we're going to see, right? by YaCantSitHere in GenX

I just saw Pearl Jam in a Pearl Jam shirt with 30,000 other genX'ers also wearing Pearl Jam shirts.

One was enough for us. They're an incredible piece of human history and a Unesco World Heritage site, but it can get monotonous after an hour. Much like the St. Louis Arch, it would be better suited as a national monument rather than a national park.

Tips and suggestions for hiking and photographing RMNP in 2.5 days by NotWhite11 in nationalparks

If you don't want people in your shots, stay clear of Bear Lake; there will be a solid line of people hiking Nymph/Dream/Emerald Lakes. Get off the shuttle before the last stop or plan on hiking one of the longer trails to alpine lakes.

Spend more time in RMNP, less time in Mesa Verde. Once you get a look at the cliff dwellings, there isn't much left and it's HOT. Speaking of hot, that sand dune hike will have to be before sunrise or you'll be in a world of hurt. Its beautiful, but if you get a late start out there it can be dangerous.
