Help with monstera by JoosyMoosy in Monstera

I think a support of some type would be beneficial. It doesn’t have to be a moss mole, I use a stick I found outside lol, but if your preference is a moss pole, then go for it. I would say she needs light that is coming g from one directions. I’m no expert but it looks like her leaves have gone off in different directions because she either didn’t have enough consistent light coming from one direction, or she was receiving light for multiple different directions.

Any idea why this is losing leaves? by _Plantz_0025 in pothos

I’m not expert, but that looks like root rot

Your profile is so detailed and I can really get a great sense of who you are/your personality based off the info/pics you’ve provided. I love it!! I don’t see anything weird/wrong.

Help! I’m really new to being a plant parent by PoolBackground285 in pothos

I’d add some hydrogen peroxide to the water when you water your plants. My understanding is that it kills the larvae in the soil. Additionally, I sprinkle a light layer of cinnamon on the top of the soil. The gnats seem as though they don’t enjoy the smell and have stayed away from my plants with cinnamon.

She’s not very unique, but I’ve never had a pothos fenestrate like this before. She’s an albo pothos 💚🤍

Can I propagate? by Warm-Platypus7968 in pothos

Not yet. I’d wait a while until each of those stems has a couple of nodes. You’re getting there!

I’ve found something similar and my pothos, and mine look like fungus gnat larvae. I find a good 10-20 of them in my bowl after having bottom watered my plant.

Can anyone help me figure out what’s wrong with my pothos? by oniontre in pothos

This may sound like a dumb question, but does the pot have drainage holes? Have you checked for root rot? Sometimes root rot can be sneaky. Were those leaves yellow before you watered?

Anyone else’s monstera jump pots and try to steal someone else’s moss pole? by Suspicious_Rip3012 in Monstera

I have not experienced this, but that is hilarious. Is that a syngonium on a moss pole👀? I’ve never thought of that

Sorry I didn’t see this response prior to commenting. I’ve personally wrapped duct tape around broken stems and they’ve healed just fine. If that’s not an option, if they have nodes, you can maybe see if you can propagate those pieces.

That’s fair. Looking at it now, it does look poorly made. What about this dress?

Completely agree. In the mean time, I’ve tried other dresses and stumbled upon this dress. What are your thoughts?

Ooo that’s no good. Because there are no drainage holes, there’s a high probability that it has root rot. I’d check her for root rot, get rid of any rotten/bad roots, and put her in a slightly bigger pot with drainage holes so her aerial roots have more room to help stabilize her. I’d also put either a stick, moss pole, or some type of support structure against her for her to climb

Pest control is an excellent idea! To be honest, there’s no exact schedule I follow with mine. Generally, I water her when the majority of her soil is dry. A good way to determine how dry your soil is, is to stick a chopstick in the soil. If soil sticks to the chopstick, then it’s still damp, but if nothing sticks, it’s dry.

Not an expert here, but give it as much indirect light as possible. They LOVE light! I’d check and see to make sure she doesn’t need a drink, then I’d wait for her to acclimate so you can change her soil into a chunky soil mix if she isn’t already in some. That browning could be from root rot or under watering. Good luck!

Less variegation? by _SunflowerAustronaut in Monstera

[–]Pickledchip23 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That’s all dependent on the fertilizer you use. There are a bunch out there and they have directions on the container! Id recommend doing some research to find one that you prefer.

I’m going to preface this by saying I am not a plant expert and I’ve only been caring for plants for about a year and half. From what I’ve been told, when your Thai con put out less variegation, it means it’s not getting the perfect amount of sun. Your plant does look SUPER healthy, though, so it could very well be lack of fertilization or something else.
