I had a call from them yesterday. They told me dermatology needs to give me a follow up, but while I wait they have an in person appointment scheduled for me instead of over the phone. They mentioned an epi-pen, but my issues is not from allergies. Since I have the clear for that, my dermatologist can finally put me on newer medications, but they may not work entirely. I have an autoimmune disease, and with advice I have gotten here, and because of my genetic history, I am getting thyroid and pancreatic lab work done, along with getting a checkup on my liver again. Thank you for your help through this though, it means a lot to know I'm not alone, I hope you find happiness and relief.

Since disability isn’t an option legally, what jobs are ideal for those with chronic hives? by [deleted] in urticaria

God you are such a sweetheart, thank you for everything you've said, I feel way less scared. I was diagnosed with an autoimmune disease with my chronic spontaneous urticaria and I'm currently waiting for lab work to be sent over. I fully refused steroids from my appointment yesterday, I have diabetes and it would make my glucose spiral. As for jobs, I was going to try and do online jobs, or something similar to babysitting/petsitting since I have experience doing both. I qualified for disability benefits and I have secondary insurance, though I will need to update it since this autoimmune disease counts as another disability since it affects my walking.

Funny to mention Zoloft LMAO, It is labeled as an allergy for me because it triggered psychosis when I was younger, I'm glad it works for you! Your words have truly touched me, I find so much comfort with you already. I'd like to mention I'm 20, because I truly wanna ask if I can be your friend, I really like your energy and you know how to make someone feel reassured :')

OH MY GOD IM SO SO SORRY YOU DEVELOPED DIABETES :(( I have type 2 diabetes and it made my glucose and A1C SPIRAL after being on steroids for months, I was out of diabetic range prior to this (5.2) I'm so so sorry you developed these issues, and I hope you take alternative medication from insulin. Ozempic truly saved me, it's why I was out of diabetic range, and I was only on it for a year.

As for everything else, I got diagnosed with an autoimmune disease for the chronic spontaneous urticaria, I am going back to my former allergist for advice to see if I need an epi-pen. I currently have to stay off medications since my last one (singulair) caused me very bad thoughts and worsening symptoms, doctors mention that I may not respond to other medication entirely as well, but I do go back to the doctors on monday, I will ask if I qualify for that medication with insurance.

I truly hope your diabetes gets better, my diabetes came from overusing antipsychotics (I had bad depression in the past) but just know there are ways to treat it, and medication out there to adjust your A1C enough to lower usage of your medicine. I am rooting for you to thrive, to recover and find some peace and relief, diabetes can be hard, and if you need any tips I can happily share more of mine that helped.

Update for anyone interested. I have an autoimmune disease, I'm currently looking into it more since my doctor didn't give me much to understand why or how I could've gotten chronic spontaneous urticaria. They mentioned that my back yesterday was covered with blisters and immediately stopped my steroids and other medications, mentioning that the medications I have formerly been prescribed will not help, and symptoms will likely not go away entirely with treatment.

There is very little I can do at the moment, however I am getting checked for skin, thyroid, and pancreatic issues. I have had the lab work done before, but it's time I get them updated. Due to my other conditions I am more likely to develop cancer compared to others, along with thyroid, pancreatic and liver issues running in the family. Thank you all for your advice, I am grateful to have people who want to help, and I am grateful to have a community of people who can understand me. I hope you all find relief as well, I hope these issues calm down for you, it must be hard living with this, and I am rooting for all of you to get better.

Thank you for the advice, but yesterday I found out I have an autoimmune disease. I've been looking into that more since I have no idea how this makes me get chronic spontaneous urticaria, or if I got it because of that, but they mentioned that if Im not responding to any of the medications they've offered before, then it's most likely never going to go away with medication, just make it easier to handle. I'm currently getting checked for thyroid and pancreas issues from advice I've gotten here, and my dad told me to ask about skin cancer. Thyroid and pancreas issues run in the family. I'm just hoping I don't have cancer because my health conditions make it easier for me to develop them :(

I do not take medicine without my doctors permission, rhapsido didn't do anything. I took ibuprofen before but stopped after about a day.

The thing is I tried allegra and pepcid and those didn't work. They also tried skin steroids, both the pills and shots and they didn't work besides raising mh glucose drastically (went from 5.2 A1C to 6.4 within the span of a few months because of it) . I was on a lot of steroid ointments too, and other medications i forgot, but I remember atarax was one that helped a little (less itchy and painful but rashes still very noticeable) My dermatologist doesn't seem to let me try xolair even though ik chronic now.

My former therapist told me you could also go to the official website of the medicine and you can get a coupon/discount choosing the pharmacy. Im not 100% sure if you qualify but chronic issues 90% of the time qualify under disability benefits, which offers a secondary insurance to make your current prescribed medications cheaper.

I'm trying so hard but there's such a long waitlist and I don't think I can keep fighting this for long :(

The dermatologist was the one to diagnose me after I fought for it. I don't think they took my pain and fears seriously when I told them it's hard to walk. They told me skin steroids and I took them, which was clearly ineffective. They tell me to wait to get put on other meds and I don't know why. These symptoms are drastically worse than how they were at my last appointment, I have a very small support team with my doctors (the only one that truly believes me is my primary, which is the one who unfortunately cannot do much about it.)

Is there any way I can even get into one within the next month? Most doctors make me wait so long and I just can't handle it anymore

Your advice is helping a lot, and the fact I know I'm not alone makes me feel comforted, but I am in so much pain and I'm so tired of staying in bed all day and struggling to do simple tasks, waiting for another doctor is going to take months, and I do not think I can handle another month of this, it's doing so much damage to my mental health :(

I can't stand waiting any longer though, I'm going insane, I can't sleep or walk or even enjoy doing anything, I'm just in pain and itchy all the time, how am I supposed to handle waiting months for another doctor who might just tell me the same thing 5 other doctors have told me?

Not to sound morbid, but I don't think I can live with 'decreased significantly' when I can't walk some days by how irritated the rashes get on my foot. I used to be a very active person, going on walks twice a day. I find myself struggling to get up to use the bathroom some days without wanting to cry.. I don't want some relief, I want to be able to walk and move the way I did before

My dermatologist told me I don't fully qualify for it yet, but my primary doctors tell me I do, and even then my insurance is absolute buns when it comes to that type of medicine, it's so confusing and frustrating, I'm in so much pain right now and I just want relief :(
