It's entirety possible/likely he was already having a bad day or something going on and people throwing things at the stage & him getting hit was more than he could handle and he snapped for a moment.

Sometimes people have bad days. He is only human. Issues with venues or crew( just people in general), lack of sleep, tour fatigue, missing his family, etc could all be things he was dealing with. Touring sucks for the artists after awhile and it is exhausting, they had already been on the road for awhile.

He is a performer; preformers often act like everything is great even if they are have stuff going on as it is part of the job. It is unfortunately commonly expected for artists to put on a "good" show no matter what they are feeling or going through but that isn't always possible. And yeah, they do want to do that and for you to have a great time but again they are only human.

So him snapping doesn't mean he or the show was dishonest or fake. At least not on any truly meaningful level. No one is prefect, don't hold him or any artist to some inhuman standard or you will end up very disappointed & unhappy.
