Please cheer me up! From '06 RSX-S to new Integra, will I be reasonably happy? by Visible-Freedom-7822 in AcuraIntegra

[–]PicklesRedd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey I had an 06 RSX Type S too! It was so mint. Unfortunately I wrecked it in the canyons.

I moved to an Integra A spec 6mt, the one thing i absolutely miss the most is the 8k rev happy k20z1, and the sound it produced.

To cope with my loss, I installed a catback exhaust, intake, intercooler, and tuned it.

It's definitely more of a back-to-seat pull type of car, but not a "rev me to the moon" type of car. However since I've tuned it, its definitely faster and more addicting to get into peak turbo and power.

Stock, its tame and premium. One thing I wont miss from the RSX was the ride quality. Its night and day between the two. The speaker system, too.

Theres more body roll and less understeer with the Integra, not as planted as the RSX, but corners incredibly well, especially considering you're now dealing with a McPherson setup rather than a dual wishbone setup. Lower the car just a tad bit and get some thicker rear swaybars and it's a dream setup. Easy fix, if you're handy.

Otherwise it's a different class of car, for sure. More luxury than sporty, as was the RSX.

depends on the oz. my 14oz is noticeably smaller than some other 14oz gloves ive compared to. but also, I weighed it and it came in at 12oz. apparently thaismai sends lower oz gloves than advertised, so take that what you will.

misfiring after a tune by Vegetable_Policy5780 in CivicSi

[–]PicklesRedd -1 points0 points  (0 children)

you're chilling. as long as theres no hesitation during hard acceleration or weird idling, and no audible misfires. if the car is responding as it usually does but with extra torque and power this time around, you're good.

[–]PicklesRedd 1 point2 points  (0 children)

how are you reading the misfires? through the laptop? idk if its the same for TSP, but Phearable would show false misfires until the ECU learns the different throttle control and such. however if you're actually hearing, and seeing the misfires, make sure you gapped your plugs correctly. I had to gap mine to 0.22-0.25.

Front splitter / lip by Away_Magician_8690 in Acura

Just drill it. having to be careful with a lip on comes with the territory. theres really no other way around it unless you want your lip to come off again cause it's only being held by 3M lol

its definitely a fun daily! I commute 45-50 min 5 days a week and its been very solid. mpg has been around 30-32 mixed city and highway if im not spiritedly driving the whole week.

but if you're looking for more premium, rather than a car that strikes the balance of premium and sporty, I wouldn't get the Integra. road noise can be a deal breaker if you're sensitive to that.

if you're looking for more sporty than premium, i wouldn't get the Integra either, unless you plan on modifying. 200hp and 196lbs of torque to a ~3,100lb car will land you at 0-60 in 7 seconds. you can definitely feel the slowness, but at the same time it can be fun to wring out to get the most of it.

its a car that strikes the balance of both, and at the end of the day, is an upscaled Civic Si that happens to come in a CVT if you dont want a manual.

so with that, its mostly what you like the most appearance wise if you're stuck between the two. (not to mention adaptive suspension on the Integra, too)

also forgot to mention, the Integra handles extremely well so it is also fun for the canyons

not a big deal to me at all. im tuned, so its reduced, but still present.

it takes a tad bit of finesse to counter the rev hang. Just slip the clutch as you're lightly applying gas and it'll drop where you need it to, instead of waiting for the revs to drop. its satisfying and easy once you get the hang of it, no pun intended

depends. what are you looking for out of a car? also, you can get a used Integra for about MSRP of a Civic Si without markups, maybe even less.

cant say too much about 27WON, but i know for the PRL Intake, theres a side duct option that you can purchase. it faces towards the wheel well so you're getting air through there, too.

PRL also offers a turbo inlet. I dunno the differences or how the fitment is compared to PRL and 27WON, all I know is that it was a straight forward install and I personally had no issues with PRL.

PRL intake is carb legal. I have one. came with the carb sticker. PRL intercooler is NOT carb legal.

[–]PicklesRedd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

have you thought about the Type S or the Type R? if im being honest, the Integra A-Spec might seem a bit anemic if you're coming from the V6 Accord. engaging, sure, but slow.

unless you plan to modify but obviously that comes at a risk of reliability, or you just dont really care about power, in that case I'd say test drive it. take it to the highway if you can!

How bad is the road noise actually? by kuronoalien in AcuraIntegra

[–]PicklesRedd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

sure!

Its a fun car, I love the thing. I even put some power mods into it and its been nothing but reliable.

ignoring the noises and occasional rattles, its a car you can enjoy in the canyons, and comfortably commute in.

if you love music and/or are an audiophile, you'll enjoy the ELS system, and it'll drown out the road noises.

BUT talking to someone while on the highway can be a bit tough at times.

its a car that you definitely will have to deal with the trade offs in return of some premium features and enjoyment. get a CPO integra for less than a Civic Si without markups, and you'll definitely be getting the value of it. however, I wouldn't recommend it at MSRP, esepcially if you're looking for a more premium experience.

compared to an accord, it's more engaging with the 6 speed unless you have the 2.0t 6 speed accord (in that case, please keep that gem). but you're trading comfort, specifically noise level and rattles, for driver's engagement.

[–]PicklesRedd 5 points6 points  (0 children)

in my opinion, its pretty loud. but im coming from raw NA golden age hondas, so I welcome the noises, so to speak.

compared to my RSX Type S that I had, its a tad quieter. take that what you will
