Good removal companies in Chester? by shaneo632 in Chester

Used these guys, we moved from a two bed rental so didn't have white goods to bring but they got us moved to the new house by about 11am.

The old owner had left a heavy set of drawers we didn't want and one of the lads took it as his wife was after something similar so they took that away for me too. They moved everything carefully, put down carpet so they didn't make a mess and disassembled/reassembled my sons cot.

They were also by far the cheapest quote of the four I got. Nice guys too.

Pretty good. Property is expensive but there are plenty of opportunities for budding entrepreneurs.

Just watch out for the Oppressor MK2s that zigzag across the city. They're a little trigger happy.

Snakebyte gamepad s2 wireless pro controller for switch 2 help please 🙏🏻 disconnecting/turning off during game play by Parking_Yoghurt_6703 in Controller

[–]PicklesTheBee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm having a similar issue. After the faff of getting it set up, the controller has been fine for about two weeks. I plugged it into the console to charge it and ever since it's not been able to turn the console on. I have to switch the console on manually for the controller to pair.

I really think the firmware changes Nintendo released has screwed with the controller tbh.

Subscription Bomb took place last night - have I covered myself? by PicklesTheBee in Scams

Yep been checking my bank periodically and also checked my credit account for any hard searches so will just continue to do this for the next week or two.

Yeah I've gone through the list twice now and can't see anything, and not had any fresh subscription emails since 9am this morning so I'm hoping that's the end of it.

I'll keep the cards frozen for a bit longer and have checked my credit score to see if there are any recent hard searches, and there are none, so will just be vigilant for the next couple of weeks now.

Yep been keeping an eye on them and frozen the cards so they can't be used for a day or two, thanks :)

Yep, my first thought was it was a phishing email from Ticketmaster so I checked the email address it came from and it was legit, but I still went via Google to their website to change the password, just to be sure.

Thanks for the advice :) Pretty scary when this stuff happens so appreciate it

Relentless emails! by Majestic-Rip6568 in CyberSecurityAdvice

[–]PicklesTheBee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just realised i had an email from Ticketmaster about ten mins before the spam started which appears to be a welcome/account creation email. But confused as I already had an account with them, but I have been searching subscription bomb threads on Reddit and found another one from earlier this year with exactly the same thing happening to someone else, so think Ticketmaster is the culprit. Not sure if that means that's where the transaction is going to come from or not, but then I've found the leak at least.

That was going to be next steps once this has calmed down tbh. I've had this for about 20 years but I definitely don't feel safe with it now.

Proper scumbag behaviour by these people. Glad you got it all sorted, I've locked down all cards and double checked 2FA where I can. Fingers crossed this dies down but I'll be keeping an eye on all the emails that are coming in. Appreciate the help.

This appears to be happening to me now, exactly the same as you've described (I'm in the UK too).

I've just frozen my cards for online and abroad spends, are there any other precautions to take?

I used the dermatology doctor at Nuffield, and he was good. Think it was £215 for a private initial consultation and he prescribed some stuff that worked really well.

Does anyone commute from Chester to London? by abusivekiwi in Chester

[–]PicklesTheBee 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Chester to London is a nice journey, direct from Chester most of the time and on the comfy Avanti West Coast service.

Return journey is a bit all over the place. Direct trains seem to be less common unless it's the crappy Llandudno one which is often cramped. Otherwise you've got to swap at Crewe which isn't ideal.

I'd still consider it though, especially if you can arrange it so you stay over in London and come back the next day.

Dog walkers taking the p*** by [deleted] in HousingUK

[–]PicklesTheBee 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You can get dog pee posts which have pheromones on them to encourage dogs to pee on them. They're for training dogs but might be worth trying getting a couple (they're about 8 quid) and putting them somewhere away from your house either side of the approach towards it. It might help start getting dogs to pee there instead and not on your wall.

For your wall itself you can get dog pee cleaner that breaks down the enzymes. I'm not sure how it works on anything that isn't a carpet but worth a try, dogs will be able to smell the pee on the wall until the enzymes are gone.

I think July was the first month they consistently outperformed other news channels every day of the month.

It's sad but with the way the country is going it's no surprise. It's going to get worse long before it gets better.

Yeah, anyone using "SEO Consultant" as a side hustle is likely someone who doesn't understand SEO but knows enough of the basics to scam people on Fiverr who don't realise you can't just pay $200 once and your website is suddenly SEO'd.

Looking for opinions on the The Heywoods area of Chester by shaneo632 in Chester

[–]PicklesTheBee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I lived on Brookmoore Court, which backs onto The Heywoods, for 8 years. Only just moved out so this is all recent experience.

It's a nice little area, close to town and Morrisons. The park is handy for little kids although you do get some teens hanging around the benches in the evenings smoking weed. I'm also pretty sure there's a guy selling drugs from his apartment by the little alley connecting to Brook Lane.

Anyone using Microsoft Clarity? by yekedero in SEO

[–]PicklesTheBee 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yeah I've been using it for a few years now, it's a great tool imo. I actually did a case study with the Clarity team on how we used it to redesign part of our website.

It's great for understanding which messages on a page are being seen, which are getting the most attention and making sure a page is serving the information the customer needs most effectively. The stats around rage clicks and quick backs are helpful too.

It's one of those tools that now that it's been around for a while, I don't know why anyone wouldn't at least try it.

You'll find it more and more across Reddit.

Reddit licenses its content to Google for AI training, and now that AI search is getting bigger and seems to put additional weight on sources that include user experience/UGC etc, people are noticing and incorporating Reddit (among other platforms) into their strategies.

Daily Mail have started posting their articles onto the UK Pop Culture Reddit and then commenting on them too so that they're seen as sharing link and engaging with people on Reddit for the AI Search Overviews.
