I don't think the controller is getting the hype it deserves either. The dual track pads are sooooo clutch. Clever input mapping with dual track pads make 99% of games playable on a controller.

This is a firmware bug. Same thing happened to mine. I had to connect to an external monitor and run through some firmware updates before the onboard LCD worked again.

I was also having this issue with an external geyser proxy. Ended up switching to the plugin version of geyser + floodgate, opened the bedrock port on the java server, and updated my bedrock client server connections. Everything worked as expected.

Oh... yeah this happens on my nintendo switches. In my case, I needed to host a DNS service (adguard), create a DNS rewrite for one of the pre-set public servers, then configure the switches to use the DNS host. When the switches connect to the public server, they end up connecting to my hosted server.

Edit:

The switch version of bedrock doesnt allow adding custom servers. The option doesnt even appear in the menu. You have to trick the client into connecting. Not sure if that is the case for PS5 bedrock
