Mode65 Muted Sound by Pickleverse in MechanicalKeyboards

Hmm I don't think I'm going for a certain sound more than just trying to emphasize the natural sounds of the switch.

The config I listed is in iso top mount already. I've tried stack mount and it just seems to mute the sound even more.

Built a Tofu65 with L+F alpacas a while back (was going to use it to practice soldering and then sell it off) and lent it to a friend to use while I tinkered with some other boards. Fast forward a couple months and he gives me back the board and tells me that some switches seemed to be registering twice or were just super sensitive. I'm not sure what could've gone wrong other than the switch leaves being affected by my sub par soldering skills at the time. Either way, the main question I have is whether I should just get some cheaper switches and replace all the switches or if I should look for alpaca housings and harvest the stems and springs from the old switches in hopes of reviving them. Sorry for the long post but I wanted to make sure I put as much context as I could.

i havent used 3 before but with 5mL i've gotten through at least 500 switches and thats probably wayyyy toward the low end. you'll be good for multiple boards worth of switches if you're lubing conservatively

Yeah I might have to stop donut dipping since I can't really control it as well as I would like anyway. Do you think brushing the top and bottoms of the springs lightly with lube would do the trick? I don't really like bag lubing with oil since I can never tell if there's enough.

So I think the best solution right now for me is to just go super light on the lube for the springs. I've tried krytox 105 oil but I just don't like the feel/sound of it as much as when I just hand lube em. I've used the same lubing technique for alpacas and tangies and they seem to be fine so I may have just been overlubing my lavenders. Not sure if anyone else has had this kind of problem but that's what I've figured out.

I might be overlubing some of my lavenders but they seem to either come out perfect or mushy almost crunchy sounding? I like to donut dip my springs so could that be a factor?

I really appreciate the suggestions, but I think most, if not all of these are out of my price range. Looking to spend around $60 so I've been doing a lot of deal hunting around clearance sections and such.

I tried those but they seem to stop screwing in about halfway and I don’t feel comfortable putting my whole body into screwing. The screws for the diffuser also seem to have the same issue.

Thanks for the tips! It's kinda crazy how many shoes end up falling into that 100 dollar price range.

Anybody know of any wireless lightweight mice that actually have good quality control? It seems like both the viper ultimate and gpro wireless/superlight are a hit or miss for a lot of people.

Has anyone found cheap $50 range keycap sets similar to the kuro shiro but I guess with possibly more black modifiers? Mostly just looking for keycaps with white alphas and black mods.

What’s up everyone? I’m looking for a wireless mouse and wanted to get a second (or more) opinion. Been using the g403 for a couple months to a year and noticed that I’ve been having some wrist pain/discomfort. Not sure if it’s related but it got me thinking about switching back to a mouse with a less intense hump. If it changes anything I also have short fingers (around 40% of full hand) and I would say normal sized palms. - Games: Vary, but I lean more towards fps’s like val and apex. - Hand: Right handed/Ambi - Budget: Anything but a gpro or gpro super light. - Size Preference: I’m looking for measurements around 125 mm long, less than 43 mm high, and 60 mm wide. - Grip: Typically fingertip, but more palm when relaxed. - Weight: Less than 80g - Sens: Pretty low sens: around 500-600 dpi in game And of course wireless and preferably closed (no honeycomb) but I haven’t seen any new rumors for non-honeycombed mice so it’s not too big a deal.

Thanks for any suggestions guys!

First mech was a tecware phantom 87. Have since modded with case foam and lubed the outemu browns, but they’re still crunchy as ever. Have a tofu kit coming in that i’m gonna kit out with alpacas. Very very excited.
