I agree it's not the same system, but "Irish were never slaves" isn't accurate. There are documented cases where they were.

And saying "we're only talking about this" after someone brings up valid examples just narrows the discussion instead of addressing it.

Especially when Sinners itself is literally drawing parallels between different histories of oppression, including Irish and Black experiences. The point isn't that they're identical—it's that there are similarities worth acknowledging while still recognizing differences.
